I will start off by saying that 95% of the time, our food is spot on. I cannot say much about the service because we always get our food to go. We have had a few occasions in which we have had an issue with out food, however our last experience has us reconsidering ever going back to this particular wing house.
During our last purchase ( at least 3'4 months ago); our food was not prepared to our satisfaction, and we requested to speak with a Mgr.
The Mgr. was gracious enough to extend a replacement meal, and assured us that we would be placed in a "Service Recovery book" , and that it would not be an issue when we returned. As we are at least an hour and some change away; we did not have a definitive return date.
We finally returned today, and when we called, was told that they were unsure of that fact, however would return our call.
We actually called them back, asked to speak with a Mgr.; and was told that there was no such thing as a book, and that w/o a receipt, there wasn't anything they could do.
Several things: The Female Mgr stated that she has worked in that location for (7) years, and that neither herself or any of the Mgrs there would ever offer anything like that.
Additionally, although I can certainly understand having a process in place to prevent fraudulent transactions; it highly offends us that she would make that statement, when we already knew that it was untrue due to a previous situation which we experienced once before; hence my statement that our experience has usually been great. Plus, we did not bring our receipt because we were already assured that we were in the book, along with our name.
We feel that although the Mgr was giving us the "Company Line", we knew that what she was telling us was a lie, and she was going to stand on that lie no matter what.
We are working professionals, and we absolutely have better things to do with our time than try to get "free wings" during our trip. This winghouse has been our go-to whenever we visit Ormond Beach, however that will certainly change because they did not keep their word, and we felt doubted our integrity.
We will not be returning to this location...
Read moreThis is the worst restaurant experience my friends and I have ever experienced we did have steak and shake number 1 for waiting and never getting a milkshake after an hour and a half so congrats on the beachside winghouse. We understand that the Daytona 500 just ended and everyone was hungry but we went to this particular one because it wasn't going to be busy. We started off going to Buffalo Wild Wings but waited an hour before being told it was going to be another 15mins to be seated when it was suppose to be 15-20mins from the start. Called this winghouse on the way over and was told no wait. There was in fact no wait to be seated. However we waited 25mins for our beer (ordered 22oz got 16oz sizes instead). The time is now 9:55pm we ordered (boneless wings (4orders), spinach dip, and fries). 10:40pm we ask to speak to the manager (Matt) and he comes and says we are backed up and leaves before we could talk to him. 11:20pm we finally get our COLD food and bills (PS we never got the spinach dip). We ask to speak to Matt again and tell him the situation, he proceeds to get defensive on us and telling us lies clear as day. Told us 500 people came in at once and every single person waited 2 hours for their food. My table saw Matt "working" the entire time we were there. He sat at the food window and did nothing to help the waitresses. We could've sat and ate at buffalo wild wings and left before we would've gotten our food. No person should have to wait 2 hours for some wings and fries. If you guys think this is "quality" service then you need to reevaluate your thinking on that. I am sure this is not the only complaint about tonight. The manager was the worst part about it all. Did nothing and got defensive when it was brought up and had the waitresses apologize for the entire thing (we saw the waitresses looking stressed and running everywhere). I've worked and my friends have worked in customer service and restaurants and this was terrible. Terrible manager means terrible shift and service for the...
Read moreIf I could give this place zero stars, I most certainly would. Let's delve into my experience, starting with the wings – I opted for the buffalo style. They were not breaded as expected, but what was even more disheartening was the rubbery texture of the chicken skin. When ordering buffalo-style wings, one typically anticipates a crispy, well-fried exterior, but this was far from the case.
Moving on to the overall ambiance and cleanliness of the establishment, it's described as a winghouse with a typical setup of high-top tables and regular tables. This part of the experience was unremarkable but also had its fair share of issues. The main problem arose when I ventured into the bathroom. I must say, the state of the restroom was nothing short of disgusting. It was evident that the cleaning regimen was severely lacking. The stalls were filthy, and every corner of the bathroom seemed to be plagued by neglect. I understand that this might be a high-traffic area, but that's no excuse for such poor upkeep. The bathroom's deplorable condition truly marred the overall impression of the restaurant.
Moreover, the entire establishment appeared to be worn down. It was as if the restaurant had seen better days and was in dire need of renovation. Despite these glaring issues, I must admit that the service was surprisingly good. I don't have any complaints about the attentiveness and politeness of the staff, which was a silver lining in an otherwise disappointing experience.
But when it comes down to it, the subpar wings and the deplorable bathroom condition were the deal-breakers for me. Although the food had some flavor, the rubbery, poorly fried wings left a lot to be desired. Given my experience at this particular location, I have no intention of returning, and I'm left with reservations about visiting any other branch of this winghouse in the future.
Overall, it's a place with potential that's overshadowed by glaring issues in food quality...
