Mai Tai Bar — Restaurant in Daytona Beach

I went there with 5 other people last night. The server took forever to grab our drinks, which weren’t even alcoholic beverages, strictly fountain drinks. When we ordered food we were told the food would take 45 minutes, we said okay because everything else was either closing or on a very long wait. I asked for fries as an appetizer because we had not eaten all day. The fries took over an hour to get to the table, with no apology from staff members. Another 45 minutes go by and we have to flag the server down to get refills. Once again, it took at least 15 minutes to get more soft drinks. When we asked about our food we were given an attitude and no response, the response we received from the server was that the kitchen was the size of our table..... after 2 hours and 15 minutes we finally receive our food... TWO HOURS AND FIFTEEN MINUTES!! For burgers and calamari! I politely ask the gentleman who brought our food to send a manager to the table. The manager does not seem sincere at all, if anything seems irritated that we complained. He goes on to give us the same reasoning as the server, that their kitchen is the size of our table & even though they serve food they’re just a bar so it’s not their fault. After hours of waiting and being irritated, we say okay and put our heads down. The “manager” says he’ll take care of us. He took $40 off of our check and we still had to pay for everything else. Another serving that wasn’t even our own helped us more than the female taking care of us. We go to find out the other server who helped us the most, it was only her 3rd day. She was absolutely amazing and she was the only good part about the experience. I have worked in the service industry for over 7 years and I have family that owns restaurants and has owned restaurants since the early 90’s. I have never had such terrible service, such insincere apologies and such mediocre, half good food. I would be lying if I said anyone at the table actually enjoyed their meal. So after 3 hours total of being there, we didn’t even have the satisfaction of having a good meal. I wouldn’t recommend this place, I felt they were very unprofessional and should’ve handled the situation much better. Unless you’re going to the bar for a quick drink, I would NOT recommend this...

We were in town for a cheer competition at the oceancenter and wanted to stop in for drinks. To start, they were 45min late opening for the time posted on google. Next, while we were waiting outside for them to open, there was a huge crowd because people were watching the bandshell cheer competition from their patio. They very rudely screamed at everyone, which I understood because there was a loud crowd. What was not acceptable was hitting people with patio chairs. They had to bring out their patio chairs, it was around 430 pm, and hit 4 people while shoving through a crowd that was hard to move in. Then, when they finally opened around 445, they hit another person and my mom with the door and squished my mom between the wall. Still, we went ahead and got drinks from them. I knew what I wanted, so I ordered quickly. My friends were still deciding, so they waited for me to finish my turn. Once I got my drinks and paid, he told my friends, "Next time, tell me what you want at the same time so I can make them all at once." Like, I get that you want to be efficient, but no need to be rude to people for not knowing what they want yet.

Set down at 7:45 with another couple seating at a table right next to me. The waiter took an order from them and passed me.

Came back GAVE THEM THEIR FOOD and ignored me again

Asked a staff member to call her over so she cane gave them napkins and was gonna pass me again, his time a “tackled” her and tried to make an order.

She knows nothing about the kitchen.

Last time I was there they offered me veggies next to sandwich instead of fries.

10 minutes later she said “Can’t”!

Around 8:15 the waiter come to me and asked if I’d like to get the bill or open a tab!!!

Food I didn’t get but the money they want already!!!

The table next to me finished their meal and got take out boxes and the check at about 8:20.

Just when I got a cup of water due to the mercy of the other waiter.

At 8:30 I left.

After speaking to the GM she said they have an undertrained staff and she’s working on it.

You stole my time and almost my money!

Maybe I’ll give you my “unsufficient debit card” next time I ask for the bill or I’ll just start eating for free and when I decide you’re up to normal service level I’ll...
