Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Decatur

Service. Period. I don't even know where to begin. 3 adults. One 2 yr old. We get drink order took in "about" 15 min from sitting down. Also put in order for appetizer. Having a 2 yr old u want something to nibble on while waiting on main food. One drink comes, ordered frozen but came on the rocks and had to send back. My daughter literally done with her drink before my correct drink ever made it to table. After drinks finally arrive the server take orders after way too long of time. Long story short, at an hour and 30 min i stopped the server to ask to please cancel the appetizer since it wouldn't make it before the meals apparently and to please put our food in to go boxes because at this point our behaved 2 yr old was growing rather restless. We never have issues with him eating out but we had been there so long and still not a bite brought to us. She said okay. After they threw them in to go containers (because they could literally been seen they just threw the meals in there) they brought us them to us then the check for the full $80. Mind you now, we didn't get to eat a bite there in our hour and 45 min visit. I am not sure if it was the servers, the kitchen, but we are highly disappointed with our local Applebees. Other tables were highly dissatisfied as well and we saw 2 tables get up and walk out before their food arrived. I don't blame them! We were so hungry we really wanted to eat there tho! This was the worst experience I’ve ever had at an Applebee’s. There were five of us and we were told it would be a 30 minute wait which is reasonable. We ended up waiting 47 minutes. Once sat, we were given no silverware and waited 10 minutes on drinks to be brought to our table and then another 10 minutes before our order was taken. We placed the order and our server never came back. The manager came and did eventually refill drinks. Once the food came, we still had no silverware, there was one of the five plates missing, and my steak was ordered well done, but not cooked correctly. We also didn’t get the A1 we requested and one of the side dishes was wrong. After waiting on them to recook the steak, they completely burnt it and threw it on the table. I finally broke down and spoke to a manager who comped $13 of our meal. My sister also found a hair in her food. Not once did our server come to check on us. We had to flag the busboy down three times and he finally told her we were upset and she didn’t really do much but say the grill line couldn’t read because she put the order in correctly. We ended up being at Applebee’s for about 2.5 hours with waiting and then the situation with food when it only should have taken 1.5 hours or so. We will...

My son and I decided on a whim to come here for a late lunch. The food was fabulous Unfortunately, I have never been so disappointed in wait staff in my life. Our waitress was rude and never came by to ask how our food was. She never refilled my water. When she dropped our food off she just turned around and walked away. I thanked her twice for my food before she acknowledged me and gave a very quick "welcome," before rushing away, as if we had the plague! I spoke to the manager and after a few moments the waitress came back & gave an unemotional, dead & unbelievable apology, using the excuse that she was having a bad day, unknowingly aware that I had watched her at a couple of other tables, being pleasant. I believe it was a racial issue, but not willing to put money on it for sure. I told the manager we might try it again at a much later date & advised to get rid of the awful waitress. I have done waitress work myself & know it's hard work, but I NEVER treated a customer the way I was treated. First time I think I've ever left a penny tip.
