This Sunday, I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with Papa Jones that left me both hungry and angry. I placed an order for a pizza at 9:30pm, with an estimated delivery time of 10pm. However, at 10pm, despite the app claiming my pizza had been delivered, I was still waiting.
I called the store at 10:05pm to inform them of the discrepancy and spoke directly with the manager. Instead of handling the situation with professionalism and courtesy, she simply told me that the app can make mistakes and that the pizza was on its way.
After a further 30 minutes of waiting, I called the store again and was once again met by the manager. This time, she was aggressive and insinuated that I was lying, stating that the delivery person said the pizza had been delivered. I was then presented with two unfavorable options: either go to the store to pick up the pizza myself or receive a partial refund. According to the manager, they couldn't refund the full amount because the pizza "had been delivered".
I am extremely unhappy with this experience. All I wanted was to enjoy my pizza while watching Sunday Night Football. However, this incompetent manager not only ruined my evening, but also made me feel as though I was being dishonest.
I would not recommend Papa Jones to anyone, based on this terrible service and the disrespectful treatment I received. Surely, there are other pizza places that value and respect their customers and are more deserving of our money and loyalty. Read moreOn 3/16/23 we ordered a large Parmesan crust meatball pizza. When we received the order, it was a cheese pizza. We called the number back from which the driver had called us (he had trouble finding the house number and called us, so we had the number). When the person picked up, I said he might have switched the boxes and we had the wrong pizza. The person who picked up said he was the manager, not the driver. I told him we had received the wrong pizza and he told us he was out of meatballs. I asked what makes it OK for the store to take an order for a meatball pizza and send a cheese pizza (they did accept the order online). When I asked that question, guess what he did? He hung up on my face. We tried calling back the same number several times but he had turned off the phone. We then called the store and were on hold for more than 30 minutes and still no answer. They might have blacklisted our number. After so much time on hold, we decided to drive to the store to ask for a refund. Both Noel, the manager who took the call saying he was out of meatballs, and the driver Carlos, were at the store. Noel was rude and never even apologized for anything. I walked in to pick up a brownie and saw a worker throw pizza dough to another worker who was talking on his cell phone. While holding his cell phone he began working on the pizza. I asked Leon the person at register if they were allowed to be touching a nasty cell phone while working. He said yes as long as it wasn’t direct contact with food. I said, “But he is working on someone’s pizza.” The worker must have heard me bc someone else took over and he went to grabbing the pizza trays with the same nasty hands. I asked for a manager and guess what?! Not only is Leon a manager, they said he was the general manager who told me they can use their phones and not wash their hands. I called the customer service number and all they did was contact the store. Louis called back and tried to offer me a credit. Who is Louis you ask? The store manager UNDER the general manager. You heard that right! Louis was nice but if his boss says dirty hands are cool you best believe he makes the decisions. I told him no thank you because a credit doesn’t fix the problem. I used to order here weekly even twice a week sometimes but never again!!
Do better Papa John’s on Hillsboro and Powerline! Cleanliness should be a priority!!...
