I recently had the pleasure of dining at Red Crab Seafood & Grill in Deerfield Beach to celebrate my birthday, and I must say, it is an incredible hidden gem that is absolutely worth a visit. From the moment we walked in, the experience was nothing short of exceptional.
The ambiance of the restaurant strikes a perfect balance between rustic seafood charm and fine dining elegance. As soon as we arrived, we were warmly greeted by a very kind hostess, whose name, unfortunately, escapes me. She promptly seated us, setting the tone for a wonderful evening. The decor is inviting, with nautical touches and a sophisticated atmosphere that makes you feel both relaxed and pampered.
Our waitress, Jennifer, truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a superb dining experience. Her attentive and friendly demeanor contributed significantly to the five-star service we received throughout the night. Jennifer’s exceptional service continued with the presentation of my first cocktail, a Mango Margarita, which arrived with a festive sparkler. The entire staff gathered to sing "Happy Birthday" to me, accompanied by a live violin performance, making it a truly special moment.
The live violinist was another highlight of the evening, playing classical music that enhanced the fine dining feel. The ambiance was further enriched when the violinist performed two different versions of "Happy Birthday" just for me, adding a personal touch to the celebration. It was a delightful surprise that set the scene for a memorable night.
The Mango Margarita was exquisite, arguably the best cocktail I have ever had, and I would return to Red Crab Seafood & Grill just for the drinks alone. My mother opted for the Coconut Mojito, which was equally delightful and bursting with flavor.
For appetizers, we indulged in fried scallops with fries and coconut shrimp. Both dishes were delicious, perfectly cooked, and served promptly. The swift service ensured we were not left waiting, and soon enough, our main courses arrived: two sumptuous seafood boils.
It was our first time experiencing a seafood boil, and it certainly won’t be our last. I ordered a half pound each of lobster, snow crab, and shrimp, while my mother chose a half pound of black mussels, crawfish, and snow crab. Every single item was cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. Each boil came with potatoes and corn, and the ability to customize the spice level and seasoning added a delightful personal touch.
For dessert, I was treated to a hot chocolate lava cake. Once again, the staff gathered to sing to me, and a heartfelt note written in chocolate adorned my plate. This thoughtful gesture truly made me feel celebrated and appreciated. To top off the evening, we were gifted a complimentary bottle of cabernet, which was a wonderful surprise. Jennifer informed us that her tip was already included, further showcasing the restaurant's generous and customer-focused approach.
One unique aspect of the service at Red Crab Seafood & Grill is that each server stands at the end of their aisle, making it incredibly easy to get their attention whenever needed. This system ensures prompt and efficient service, enhancing the overall dining experience.
In summary, Red Crab Seafood & Grill offers amazing food, outstanding service, and a warm, inviting ambiance that perfectly blends rustic seafood charm with fine dining sophistication. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience. It is a true gem that deserves to...
Read moreYou will like this place if you value delicious food, immaculate service and pleasant ambiance. I went to “Red Crab” in Deerfield Beach to celebrate the late Valentine’s Day with my husband. We were greeted by the tidy smiling staff and seated immediately. By the way, all employees there are bilingual - English and Spanish. The whole evening we were waited on like never before. Our waitress’s name was Leyanis, and she deserves all possible praise for making our impression of the restaurant and our experience so memorable. We were offered a choice of drinks. Since we do not drink alcohol, we opted out for a “Strawberry lemonade”. It was very pleasant. Not burning your throat sweet, and we could really taste lime and strawberries in it. We decided to have a crevice as an appetizer. To be honest, I am not a conoisseur of ceviche. But I got tired of having it with shrimp only. So when I learned that the “Red Crab”’s ceviche is made with fish only, we went for it. No regrets. Again, the marinade flavor wasn’t burning your throat sour. It was balanced, pleasant and delicious. The portion was plenty enough for two. For the entree we chose a pound of king crab and a lobster tail basket from the “Get Your Hands Dirty” section. Words cannot give enough justice how wonderfully tasty the food was. I am not going to re-tell you what was in the basket, or give you the prices - read their menu online. I only testify that the value of the satisfaction for myself and my husband was well worth the $$ spent. BTW we brought approximately 1/3 of our entree home with us, because couldn't finish it. We also had a dessert. They offered a selection of rather traditional chocolate cake, key lime pie, ice cream. We settled for flan. Loved it. Again, not a conoisseur. Just call them as I see them. The flan was delicious. The cappuccino made by Leyanis was VERY good. And the black tea was actually black and actually had flavor (this is where I AM a conoisseur 🤭). It’s time to wrap it up. I think I wrote everything I wanted to share. I will add the pictures. A few more things. They have daily specials. They serve NOT ONLY shellfish. Besides dishes from the traditional meat they specialize in exotic meat - buffalo, ostrich and venison. If someone is like me and crave a Frutty di Mare pizza sometimes, and cannot find it anywhere here - they have it. And the last thing - on Sundays after 6pm they have live music. The violinist plays nice music. Mother’s Day is coming - take your special ladies to this restaurant. They will...
Read moreWe we're in boca raton again for vacation. My husband & his mother. We wanted dinner & saw the reviews so we ubered here. We were really looking forward to it because we saw they had paella which I've had before in Spain. Its normally delicious. Now I love paella & ceviche. I consider myself a seafood connoisseur. But unfortunately the paella was too wet and the seafood in it was way overcooked. It was very disappointing the whole experience. The ceviche was not flavorful...it was very bland & watery. I dont know what other reviews ate but what we was served was unappetizing.we tried to eat what we could because we were hungry. We tried to tell the manager but he was moving so fast plus he didn't really hear me I assumed because he barely acknowledged me. Maybe he wasn't a Mgr?. My husband was disappointed we had to ask him twice about where the oysters came from.he said he had to ask the chef but we didn't see him for awhile. We aĺso ordered 6 raw oysters but was informed by a different female server that they were all out. Finally we got the answer to our question of what the oysters come from. Since we really like bllBue Point . Very dissappointing. He also ordered 2 Jameson whiskeys with light ice. His came back with 2 glasses full of ice???!? So he and his mom had to use fork to take out the extra ice. My drink was ok...it was good... long Island tropical lit. The service I gave 2 stars because what we experienced was that bad.also we ordered at 820pm and we got the paella at 930pm. Now we understand that the paella take 35 mins to cook. We were prewarned when we ordered so we asked him to go ahead and put it in.. but we still didnt get it for over an hour and there werent a lot of people in there. I don't know what was going on that day but I can't get down with the other reviews nor understand them. We will never comeback to this place nor can we recommend it. I've done a lot of reviews because we eat at a lot of places in Atlanta but this is honestly the worst place we've eaten in Florida. We hated we wasted time coming here...we should have just doordashed some food from Whale Rib and dranked in our hotel room as we...
