This location is new. We normally go to the Lebanon establishment, so we kinda knew what to expect, or so we thought. We started off with a meatball and marinara appetizer. This was the best part of our experience, aside from a glass of Jeffersons Bourbon. The meatballs were a little on the well-done side, but had a good flavor, well seasoned, but not overly so. The marinara was also pleasant with a nice hint of basil and again well seasoned. It had a nice consistency which clung to the meatball. We all 3 enjoyed it. I had the chicken pesto Mac and cheese, but I do not recommend it. First, it seemed like the pasta was fresh from the microwave, hot on one bite, barely warm on another. Another clue was that the cheese sauce was like water, thin, and not sticking to the pasta at all, which means the cheese flavor was all but missing. The pesto was the overwhelming flavor. The chicken is the highlight of the dish, which it should not be. My daughter got a grilled chicken Mac and cheese dish with peppers. I could repeat what I wrote about my dish. The only flavor was the peppers. Very disappointing. My wife ordered a grilled chicken salad, which she enjoyed. I find this ironic since it required no cooking. The service was excellent. Our waiter was attentive and on the spot with refills and removal of used dishes. He followed up several times in the course of our meal, but not to the point of being intrusive. The low score for the atmosphere is, although this place is new, there were knats at our table. We nearly left when we were first seated they were so bad. I am not sure why a newly opened restaurant would have this issue to begin with. The cost of this was a bit on the pricey side. At over $100 for 3 people, with only one adult beverage, I expected better quality food. In the future, I think we will stick with the original location and give this storr time to work out some growing pains.

Dinner at Barrel House Kitchen and Bar – A Delicious Experience! I had dinner at Barrel House Kitchen and Bar in Mason after a friend told me they had the best French fries ever—and wow, they were right! Perfectly crispy and seasoned just right, they were definitely a standout. I started with the cheesy spinach dip appetizer, and it did not disappoint—so creamy, packed with spinach, and topped with perfectly baked, gooey cheese. Since they’re known for their pizza, I went with the Margherita pizza, and I immediately understood why so many tables were ordering pizza. Fresh, flavorful, and delicious! Our server, Paige, was wonderful—attentive, delightful, and had such a great smile. One of the investors, Galvin, even stopped by our table to check on our experience. He was super friendly and clearly takes a lot of pride in the restaurant. We definitely plan on coming back soon. Highly recommend!

Our first visit to Barrel House on a busy Friday evening. We sat at the bar with a bird’s eye view of the kitchen. The service was very attentive. We ordered wings and a barbecue sandwich with a side caesar salad. The kitchen was cranking out orders, but a bit to their detriment. My sandwich came out within a few minutes of ordering, but my husband’s wings weren’t ready, so the sandwich stayed under the heat lamps for another 10 minutes. I was hoping it wasn’t mine, but unfortunately the meat was quite dried out…not sure if it was from the heat lamp or if the meat was just overcooked to begin with. It was entirely the consistency of burnt ends. The wings were perfectly seasoned and cooked- quite good! Bourbon prices were for a 2oz pour with several options to choose from. Maybe next time we’ll try the pizza.

After 2 years we decided to revisit this restaurant and I have to say I am pleased they have earned a better review this time. We ordered the meatball bake for the appetizer it is very good. We shared a chicken bacon ranch pizza for our main meal its the perfect size for 2. The service is much better now. PREVIOUS REVIEW 2023: Just opened in our area so we figured we would try it out. Maybe a little time and it will get better. First thing I noticed was one of the guys was sitting at a table wrapping silverware touching every piece where your mouth would go this is a huge no no for me (I requested plastic ware) second the table was slightly dirty this I would have let slide and probably not have added in my review had our experience not been so bad. We ordered the pretzels for the appetizers these were good a little over cooked but good their honey mustard sauce was actually very tasty. For our dinners my husband and I ordered hamburgers both our hamburgers came out so undone that our buns were soaked with red juice yea a no go for me. My side was the Ceasars salad it was good and his side was the Mac and cheese it was good as well. Second time around they brought out brand new hamburgers this time they were done but his had the sauce on it which we requested it not to be. My husband ate the bottom half of the burger just so we wouldn't have to wait even longer. My son had the pizza with the barrel twist which was fine he ate it and they did get his food right. When it was time to go we waited and waited for our waitress. My son was getting impatient so I took him to the car. My husband spoke to 3 different people then finally got the manager just to pay, at this point the table we were at was already cleaned and resat. She tried to give him a bill of 120, he stated that wasn't his bill she had charged us twice for the cheeseburgers. Needless to say we won't be back. I understand they are new but there was no apology for the way things were done. The owner needs to rethink who he is allowing...
