I’ll be honest, shopping at a craft store like Hobby Lobby is delightful, especially the one in Mason. What sucked is not because of the customer service or the atmosphere, it was because of an experience that I had last December while I was out shopping with my dad. We were buying some reefs, reef hangers, and some Grinch merchandise to decorate for Christmas. Our hands were full, so my dad had to get a cart that was literally inside the store, and I went with him to put whatever I carried in the cart. My dad stopped and looked at me clueless. So, that was when he looked down on me and confronted me, thinking that I was going to go straight through the exit with those unpaid items, when I wasn’t. I knew what I was doing, and he was blaming that it was because of my autism, which had nothing to do with me helping out with my own father at a damn store. He even warned me that I would get jumped if I go near those doors with unpaid items. I only would if I go through the detectors and automatic doors (like outside the store) because that’s considered theft, even though there were security cameras and stores have security checking on everybody to make sure that they ain’t stealing. Plus, I would never steal anything because I was raised properly. So, he was giving me some anger issues that I had to control, and he was kinda babying by saying ‘don’t worry you’ll get there’ throughout the entire errand. In the end, I apologize that everybody had to witness the embarrassment I experienced the night we shopped. I hope no one who was watching the cameras knew I was going to steal, when I...
Read moreI'm new to sewing i was gifted a REALLY old white sewing machine from the 1890s and a serger ultralock when it grandma died this last month, two very incredible machines built for anything. Anyway, I went to hobby lobby and was getting fabric, the lady who was cutting the fabric was fantastic. I wish I remembered her name but she literally told me so many tips and tricks and stuff I will definitely be going back just for her. Super helpful to find people who want to help! My grandma used to sew and I would always sit my chin on the sewing table bc its actually got the sewing machine INSIDE it. And I would always laugh at the "tickles" And I was just so happy to get the machines. Sad but also happy and was trying to make a piece that is a memorable piece for her and I was just so happy to have someone step in and offer help when I was just completely lost trying to make things work. I have now gotten much better and fully learned to take my whole serger apart and such so she gave me the boost I needed and because of that I will always go back to this store especially if she's working there. I'll update with her name one day.
It's a super clean organized store with...
Read moreIf it was an option to give less than one star I would have. This is one of the worst experiences I've had in a store (to date). The manager and one of his employees had to be wore out from following me around the store, it was so pathetic that I about asked them , if they needed something to drink. Needless to say I won't be back and I didn't spend a dime in their store and will not! I don't care how cool their stuff is. They should be ashamed of their selves, they claim to be a Christian store. I don't see how, they sure made me feel uncomfortable and they were completely rude, I've never felt so judged in my life! They even had the audacity to follow me out to the parking lot after they knew for a fact that I had taken nothing! I couldn't be more disgusted due to their display of ridiculous customer service. I highly recommend the Mason store if you feel like being harassed by the staff! I was beside myself bc the person who went with me spent over $100 at the store I couldn't bring myself to do the same I left everything behind and still felt like I was going to get strip searched on...
