I was pretty upset that I’ve lived here for years and never knew this place existed! My friend showed me this restaurant just yesterday. At first, it felt like every other Mexican restaurant in DeLand—until I saw the dishes they served. All authentic, all homemade, even the desserts.
The portion you get for the price is perfect—huge! I paid $15 for two enchiladas and a hard taco, and I’m dead serious when I say it was the best Mexican food I’ve had in years. I devoured the whole meal—every bite was perfect. The refried beans were flavorful and not overly salty, the rice was delicious and not dry, and the enchiladas were smothered, with ground beef bursting with rich spices.
They had some handmade verde sauce and hot sauce that only added more depth to the dish—I’m partial to verde, and theirs was amazing.
When I finished, I couldn’t stop telling my friend I have to bring my girlfriend, my mom, our other friends, and even my cousins. This place is going straight into my top recommendations for Mexican food in DeLand and Orange City.
It’s been a long time since a restaurant blew me away like this. You have to get lunch here...

Definitely a hole in the wall that is easy to miss or overlook. I've lived in Deland for many years and am only just now learning about this place. I did not enter the restaurant, there is a window you can order from, so I can't attest to the atmosphere or cleanliness but the outside appears well taken care of.
The young woman who helped me with my order was very nice and helpful. Answered my questions with a great attitude.
I ordered a California burrito and my husband prefers them all chimichanga style (deep-fried). I asked if they could do that and they said yes! They did warn me they think the fresh ingredients may mess with it. I think it's wonderful they care enough about the quality to let me know. It held up great, btw.
My steak nachos were really good too. I modified it for fresh jalapeño rather than pickled. Also, this is just me, I would have preferred more cheese and meat. What was provided was enough, I just prefer to overload my nachos with those two.
Super satisfying meals. Great horchata....
Read moreThis taco place has been around in our town for around 20 years I believe they used to be located on woodland boulevard now they're looking downtown. This is above and beyond one of my favorite taco places in the local area. I started going here when I saw the authentic Tex-Mex style tacos which I used to enjoy with my daughter who is now grown and moved away. Went there yesterday with my to be ex-wife and I was just a little let down by the drowning in parsley I am not a fan of parsley, it's a side garnish to be looked at not eaten. And I don't know anybody who likes the taste of parsley I'm sure I'm wrong there are people out there that do like it but not me and the majority of people I've asked they've never heard of somebody just putting parsley all over a taco. Maybe they thought it was alfalfa sprouts, now alfalfa sprouts are great on a Taco I hope you guys are reading this because anybody with dentures is going to run out of the building p that damn parsley sticks to anything plastic in your mouth I...
