Jamaican and Soul Restaurant — Restaurant in DeLand

All I can say is get there as early as you can before all the food is gone. We arrived there on a Wednesday night @6pm since they closed at 8pm but unfortunately what was left was a little bit of oxtails and curry goat. Since my taste buds was wanting some authentic cuisine we decided to get what was left so we went with the oxtails, cabbage, cornbread and a little rice.

The food was good just wish we had more of it. The owner was very nice and offered us a little discount for the lack of food and choices which we really appreciate.

That shows me they sell out fast and that they offer fresh cooked food and not something they warm up from the previous day.

Horrible! Absolutely over seasoned! Me and my husband went here today with high expectations and left disappointed. First, they don’t have goat on Monday’s, there’s no sign indicating this, so you just gotta find out when you get there. It was an extremely uncomfortable climate, it felt better outside. And also they didn’t come off as being a clean restaurant! I didn’t get a receipt, wasn’t even offered! This is by far the worst Jamaican restaurant I’ve ever been to, don’t waste your time or money, they’re much better Jamaican...

We stopped here as a work lunch, and were very happy. They have very good quality food, and in love with their food! Everyone had more food than they could eat, the staff was very friendly and we loved talking to them. The only thing I could recommend is be sure to order ahead, they take a little time getting the food out, but it is all made fresh and tastes homemade and authentic - definitely worth the wait but hard to go to if you're in a bit of a time crunch.
