I hate to be the outlier here, but tonight I ordered the Caesar salad with grilled chicken. Unfortunately, somehow a large piece of plastic wrap got tossed into the salad. Thankfully, it wasn’t shredded and so I may have avoided consuming plastic with the vegetables. It wasn’t shredded very unpleasant and off putting. Never happened to me before. I will not add a photo. The second salad was fine. It’s a bit under-dressed so one can barely tell it’s supposed to be a Caesar salad. Hardly a hint of the advertised anchovy and garlic and lacking in croutons. There’s also this strange bitterness to the salad that I think is coming from the chicken. On closer inspection, the shredded chicken appears to be a mix of white and some dark meat, which is unusual for a salad topping. The dark meat is giving it a strange bitterness. Despite its presentation and good size, it’s one of the most disappointing Caesar I’ve ever had and I’ve had many over my lifetime.
On the positive side, the server was very apologetic and did a great job despite the problem in the food prep. The ambiance was nice, modern and...
Read moreI had such a terrible experience at this restaurant and was so dissapointed to end my amazing trip to Denver with this meal and awful service. The restaurant was not very busy, literally dozens of tables open, but only one very poor server. We waited 45 minutes to get drinks, 35 minutes longer for our food, which was terrible. I had a chicken wrap with the consistency of jerky. The server didn't deliver our food or drinks herself...the bartender, the only competent person in the place, stepped in to help her. I ordered another drink when our food came, knowing the wait was long, which never arrived and we had to cancel. At the end, when our table was full of dirty plates that hadn't been cleared and we'd been waiting 20 minutes to get our check, the server tried to deliver us someone else's food, evidently fogetting we'd been there for over an hour and already eaten. This and ultimately confirmed the incompetence of this awful server. The manager was also very inattentive and only due to the bartender did we recieve any...
Read moreStayed at Hotel Indigo, and had dinner with family at Ambler. We appreciated not having to leave the hotel for a good warm meal on a cold night!
Given the choice of a proper table or bar seating, we chose the former . Margaritas were 100 % perfect—best I’ve had! Food: Brussel sprouts appetizer, main dish cauliflower, smash burgers and the signature Ambler fries. Our server recommended those house-special fries. He was right—-don’t miss them!!
The overhead music at first was too loud for us— we had to almost shout during conversation. Responding quickly and courteously, staff immediately turned down the volume, which made a huge difference.
The desserts sounded yummy, but we were too full to order them. Something to look forward to next time in Denver!
Thank you to Ambler wait staff, bartender,...
