Ate here for dinner on Friday night and this was the worst experience I have ever had in Denver to date. I contemplated writing this review but the experience was so bad I decided I had to. It was a last minute decision for our group of 5 to eat here, I had ate at the other location before and had a wonderful experience, so we didn’t have a reservation and were prepared to wait for some time. We were told it would be 45 minutes to sit down after waiting for over an hour we went up to a woman working at the front and asked if it would be possible to add a chair to one of the 4 tops areas to sit our party of 5 as there were many we could see that looked available. The lady working rolled her eyes as the question was asked and seemed to be extremely annoyed. Waiting another 10 minutes for them to add a chair we sat down. The chair added had no back and a person in my party switched it with a chair with a back. The woman came over, who we later found out was the manager, she came over with a raised voice telling us that we were “encroaching on the people next to us” and that we were “unbelievable” rolling her eyes again and storming away. Everyone in the party was baffled by the behavior, I understand she may have been having a bad day but very unacceptable behavior from a manager. Our server came over after waiting another 10ish minutes, we asked if we could substitute chicken in one of the dishes, she went to ask but took another 15 minutes to ask and come back. Finally our order was placed, when our food came out my friend’s food was missing. No one would look at us or check on us so everyone ate. We had two pieces of raw shrimp in our order, I was going to speak to a manager about it until I realized the manager was the woman who had freaked out on us and didn’t want to be exposed to that kind of energy. When our server finally came over again we told her we were missing someone’s food, she never apologized she said okay and walked away. more time goes by and at the point we needed to get out of there, we tell her we don’t need it anymore, we have an event to go to. Never apologizes. We ask for the bill, she gives us the wrong check. Not once did anyone apologize for this entire experience, we all left completely flabbergasted. Also extremely frustrating that there was a 20% service charge added with our server not letting us know after the...
Read moreI'm really disappointed to share this post. I consider myself a big fan of Mister Oso, but last night's visit left a foul taste in my mouth. I ordered my favorite birria tacos that is a must, and wanted to try the coconut rice for the first time. Placed my order online, walked over and entered the place. I was greeted by a tall woman wearing all black. She let me know that the order would be "just a minute". So I sat down on a table and greeted by a diff server this time, I told him I was waiting for my to go order and ordered a to-go cucumber lime agua fresca. This plastic cup with heavy ice and little liquid cost me $7.12. I put it next to a regular sized glass to see the difference in size and scale in the photo.
Back to waiting... waited more around 15-20 minutes for my food, finished my little cup in like 2 sips, asked if I could have a bit more since this to-go cup was so small, and the same tall woman in all black very rudely said, so you're asking for a refill?" To which I replied, yes - I waited extra time and this small cup is half the size of a regular cup. What's the big deal (I was in food service industry 8 years, I would have taken care of the customer). She said no. I had to pay another $7.12. So I left, saddened. I spend upwards of $75-125 every time I go here. That was the last time I spend a dime at this establishment. Also, the coconut rice was more a cop off of arroz con leche mexican style and far too creamy. They also recently stopped making my favorite Oaxacan Old Fashioned. Too many signs to ignore the obvious. I hope that woman reads this and rethink how she treats paying customers. 💔 goodbye...
Read moreWe'd been to Señor Bear, so we were excited to check out Mister Oso next. Right away we were struck by just how different the vibe was here - SB feels rather classy while MO feels super hip! Love both vibes, but was excited that this would be a totally different experience. The drinks and tacos were amazing, but the most incredible part by far was the manager. As soon as a waitress had alerted her to a rather important mistake that had been made with our order, she rushed over and continued to check in with us throughout the night, and was more than generous in handling the situation when it came to our bill. Despite the restaurant being at capacity, she went above and beyond to make sure that we were well taken care of throughout the night! We will be coming back just because of her!
The only downside of our experience was our waiter - Jordan, according to the bill. First, it was his distracted actions that led to a potentially dangerous mix up regarding a food allergy. But even after that, he continued to forget about us LITERALLY each time we asked for something - a glass of wine, a box, some sugar, etc. It became almost funny by the end of the night to watch him walk by our table and run off, remembering he hadn't brought us what we'd asked for again and again. We felt bad for the guy, but jeeze. It was clear that all of the other waitresses were extremely professional (they would often step in for him when they noticed - and even the hostess covered for him once or twice to help us!), so I felt bad that they would have to be sharing the night's service charge money...
