Mockingbird is a fantastic spot that truly excels at creating an immersive and unforgettable experience. The venue's incredible decor and thoughtful layout are its biggest selling points, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.
The moment you walk in, you're greeted by a stylish bar. From there, the space unfolds into a series of distinct rooms, each with its own unique feel. The second room opens up into a dynamic dance floor, perfect for letting loose. Continuing on, you'll find a more intimate lounge area defined by stunning floor-to-ceiling drapes that create isolated sections with tables and couches, offering a cozy retreat from the energy of the dance floor.
As you keep exploring, you'll discover a back bar with a small, unassuming entrance that leads to the venue's most impressive feature: a huge, immersive bird cage with a grand table in the center that can seat about 15 people. Beyond that, there's a spacious outdoor patio, giving you yet another option to relax and enjoy the night.
The overall vibe of Mockingbird is a masterful blend of a trance EDM festival and a high-energy Denver nightclub. The crowd was a great mix of people in their late 20s to early 40s, all there for a good time. A shoutout to DJ Joey B, whose set was absolutely incredible and kept the energy high all night.
Be prepared to pay a $10 to $15 cover charge, and drinks run about $10 to $15 each. It's well worth it for the vibe and experience you get. Mockingbird has great drinks and even better vibes. I'll...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreComing from NYC being reccomended to this as a safe space to exist in(similar to house of yes) I left in tears at the realization that this space is simply riding the wave of ārave/plur cultureā but not delivering in ANY WAY. Iāve never left a space feeling so sad about our collective future.
Instead itās an unsafe place... I am aghast overt sexism, racism and white supremacy that was exhibited by groups of guestsā¦
I amount of times (from different people that asked to sit and share energy with us!) that preached to us things like⦠how they donāt believe in being gay but love women but canāt be with one because of God and⦠supporting ICE⦠But ALAS. No. It was nearly every group of people we interacted with in our time there.
Not a safe space. At all.
Iām a disgusted by these young people & their outlook on human rights.
To respond to the owners comment: thank you for your thoughtful reply. Just want to let you know we DID tell your bartender and the server that popped in to grab drink orders. Neither did anything and the cocktail server just avoided the space for the rest...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIāll admit up front ā I was in the wrong for looking over the fence from Larimer Lounge into Mockingbird. Out of curiosity, I peeked over, realized it wasnāt smart, and even walked around to apologize.
What happened next, though, was beyond unprofessional. An employee cussed at me, blew weed smoke directly in my face, and then refused to even speak to me when I tried to apologize ā instead accusing me of āhopping the fence,ā which I did not do.
Yes, I had been drinking and could have handled myself better. But for a staff member representing a bar to react that way was wild, uncomfortable, and honestly kind of scary.
Hope she gets the help she needs...
