This was the perfect place to host our baby’s first birthday! We were looking for a cozy place that could entertain older kiddos and have space for babies to move around safely. This was it! We had kids ranging from 2 months to 10 years old and there were things to keep them all entertained; from the busy walls, play kitchen, jungle gym, and tummy time toys, as well as a floor high chair and bouncy. We also had a nursing mom who was able to use the well designed zen room. We loved the food room in the back and the coffee shop in the front. It was a great size, modern and not too pricey. The special drink was fun and the onsite host was incredibly hospitable and kind.
The only things we wish were easier were parking, a place for shoes and food; folks found their way to park but if the lot across the street could be rented out on the weekends, if food was more convenient; either partnerships that set up for you or in-house, and if there was a rugged off space designated for shoes, that would all be amazing. We had to carry our food from a nearby restaurant on a super cold and snowy day which made set up a little tough. I think the Den is working on some in house options in the future though.
All in all, I would recommend this place for a kiddo’s birthday, in fact many of my friends that joined us for this birthday seemed very interested to host their own parties here. I hope to consider them again in the future as well....
Read moreI am a part-time SAHM and also building/running my business. Last week, we had a morning that we had to unexpectedly jump out of bed and get out of the house. It was a rainy day, two cranky kids, and my to-do list was miles long, where could we go? We landed at The Den, dripping and still in our pajamas. As soon as we walked in, I could already feel myself catching my breath. My kids (3 and 5.5) had only been there once before on but they immediately felt at-home and dove right into playing (surprisingly they love the busy board wall intended for little ones). During our time there (they were occupied for 2.5 hours!), I got on my laptop and knocked out my to-do list and then some, played with my kids, made new connections both personally and professionally, and observed some pretty awesome connections happening around us as well. My kids had the best time making obstacle courses, operating a farmers market, learning about resolving conflict with new friends, getting creative with the weekly craft they provide, and making memories in one of their new favorite spots to hang! It was a day that I needed some support, and if hugs are your thing, Chandler (the owner) gives some pretty excellent ones. She has a vision to create a space where our community can gather and get support they may not even know they needed! She, and her team, are so beautifully carrying it out. As a parent who needs community, I am so grateful...
Read moreI’m really excited this place exists. And let me just say that this place is for DADS as well. We visited last weekend and again today and here’s what I noticed:
It’s incredibly easy to strike up a conversation with people. As a dad and someone who works from home this is so refreshing and appreciated. People seem to welcome connection here. I chatted with a few moms and dads each visit. So easy. And no one cared that I had dog hair and milk stains on my shirt. Good deal.
The coffee, pastries and bonfire burritos…all delicious.
Kids are SO happy in here. They also make connections easily. And there’s enough toys and play things to go around. Plus, everything is soft and padded so you can watch your kid out of the corner of your eye while talking to parents and know that they’re safe and having a blast.
The owners and staff are genuinely good people. They make the effort to connect and ask how you’re doing. A rare enough thing these days.
Check it out if you’re on the fence. This dad thinks The Den is an amazing connection point and resource for...
