DO NOT EAT HERE! Yesterday afternoon, I purchased a milkshake with Strawberry Cheesecake and Chocolate from Little Man Ice Cream in Denver, and within a short time of consuming it, I experienced one of the worst cases of food poisoning in my life.
Immediately after drinking it, I became violently ill — intense and uncontrollable vomiting every hour for hours, chills so severe I lost feeling in my fingertips, debilitating fatigue, and a level of sleepiness that left me barely conscious. It got so bad I nearly went to the ER. This was not just a mild reaction — it was a full-blown medical emergency.
This is extremely serious. I am deeply concerned about the health and safety practices at this establishment. Whether it was spoiled dairy, cross-contamination, intentional due to being a POC, , or unclean equipment — something was very wrong, and it almost landed me in the HOSPITAL!!
Please protect yourself and your loved ones — stay far away from Little Man Ice Cream. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone. This place deserves a zero star review.
I’m sharing this to potentially protect others from what I went through on 05/09/25 at 4:15pm.
Update:
Concerning the company’s reply to my above original review….While I appreciate the offer for a refund, I want to be clear that this goes FAR beyond a minor inconvenience or customer service issue. The experience I had was traumatic, and frankly, I’m shocked at the lack of accountability in your message.
You mentioned routine safety protocols and staff training, yet I experienced extreme food poisoning symptoms immediately after consuming your product —That doesn't happen from a “bad mix” or isolated stomach issue — it’s indicative of a serious failure in your food safety chain, regardless of the procedures you claim were followed.
The fact that this was brushed off with a refund offer and vague reassurances, instead of direct acknowledgment that something may have gone seriously wrong, is concerning. This wasn’t a case of dissatisfaction — this was a health hazard that could have had far worse consequences.
I hope your team takes a deeper internal look instead of defaulting to DEFENSIVE protocol explanations. I will also be sharing this experience publicly to inform others. Food poisoning is not something to be downplayed — lives can...
Read moreOnce a whimsical beacon of sweetness and nostalgia, Little Man Ice Cream—that shiny metal milk jug monolith in LoHi—has revealed its true identity: a capitalist ice cream trap dressed up in retro charm. The “adorable” milk can exterior is nothing more than a siren song, luring unsuspecting ice cream seekers to the rocks of financial ruin.
Let’s get to the cold, hard scoop: $10 for a single waffle cone. And no, that’s not some hand-rolled, brown butter, bourbon-glazed, unicorn-dusted artisanal marvel. It’s a mass-produced, forgettable cone that couldn’t hold a candle to the real homemade thing if it tried. The ice cream itself? Middling at best. You’d get more flavor nuance licking the inside of a Ben & Jerry’s pint you forgot in the back of the freezer.
It’s not just a rip-off—it’s an insult.
This is a call to arms. No longer should we, the good people of Denver, allow ourselves to be duped by nostalgia-drenched branding and flashy facades. That giant dairy decoy must be revealed for what it is: a towering tribute to overpriced mediocrity.
The tyranny of the $10 cone must end. Let us rise and demand value, quality, and accountability. Support your local scoop shops. Seek out the true artisans—the ones who churn with care, who toast their cones by hand, who don’t make you consider a second mortgage to buy a double scoop.
Down with the dairy despotism. Up with the real deal. Let the metal milk jug crumble under the weight of its own hype.

Read moreThere was article I read saying this place was the #1 ice cream in America. Well I was in Denver with friends and I said how can I not go here? My husband and I got here around 9 pm on a Thursday and the line was down the street. I've heard this place is always packed so decided to get in line. We stood in line for around 15 minutes which was not bad at all. I got a scoop in a waffle cone (half scoop black and white coffee and half scoop space junkie- this has rasberry and some other berry with brownie bites). It was delicous!! Super creamy and smooth. You can tell these are "homemade" and not processed. I have to agree that it may be the top 2 ice cream I've ever had. Definitely worth the wait. My husband had the vegan chocolate and mint chip. Don't knock down the vegan options. They are actually really delicious!! And my husband is NOT vegan. Great options for those who are dairy free! Parking is plenty around the neighborhood, just be sure to read the signs. You may have to park a few blocks away, but they are not metered. Now go...
