Donut Palace — Restaurant in DeSoto

New to the area & we were looking for a good place to get sausage kolaches/pigs-in-a-blanket bc our go-to spot, Iheartkolache is all the way in Plano & yes, we'll drive there on the weekends to settle our craving but it would be soo nice to just get up & drive down the road so we decided to try Donut Palace in Desoto & so glad we did! My daughter & I even liked them better than our go-to... We bought 2-dzn pigs-in-a-blanket, 1 with & 1 w/out cheese, 1/2 dzn glazed & 1/2 dzn choc. glazed, oh & daddy had to get his princess some glazed donut holes not knowing that they give you a free dzn holes w/purchase of dzn. That's a nice lil perk. $12 a dzn. The breading is a slightly sweet yeast and ohhh so good..they definitely hit the spot. Everything was good, the employees were nice, reasonably priced so I think we have found a new go-to for while in the area.I only wish they had a drive-thru. My first experience was great but today experience made me reconsider because of the service. I normally get enough for a family of five $$ but today I ordered enough for two $ I was greeted well but after my selection was made the senior cashier 👵 placed the bad on the counter in a questionable way and one of the pastries came out onto the counter and the cashier proceeded with the sale flag 🚩, so I requested that the pastry be replaced she did but with an attitude flag 🚩 also she didn't offer me a recept like she normally would do flag 🚩 but just before I existed I said thank you and only got a stare but as I opened the door leaving and she (cashier) said have a good day. The lady with red hair was very rude! Not sure if she’s the owner or not. I called myself trying to try a new donut shop since my usual place gets extremely packed around a certain time. My toddler couldn’t decide what drink he wanted and she tried rushing us. After my purchase I asked for a receipt because I knew I had been charged extra, she got upset that I questioned my total and shouted to me how much each item was individually. I informed her that she had poor customer service and that I wouldn’t return. She replied “that’s fine!”. It was too early for the attitude, I felt the energy being off when I first entered and I should have just followed my mind and left. I’ll NEVER purchase here...
