This place was okay. I came in here a few weeks ago and the place seemed a little neglected. It was a Saturday evening, yet there was only a few people inside. Their service is friendly but very unattentive. They were all texting and just standing around. The floor was all tore up and it kind of had sort of an old warehouse rustic feel, which I honestly didn't care for. I get Detroit is an old gritty city and having a bar like this is hipster and trendy, but this was a little overboard. The floor was beat up and it borderline looked like they were remodeling. The outdoor space was nice. It seems like a good spot to chill when there is entertainment and the place is filled. But again, it was very unkempt. The palm trees were all brown and dying. Supposedly they had very good pies back in the day but now they quit serving them and that part of the bar is just abandoned. The slushy that I ordered was watery and sour. It didn't have the best flavor. It was nice and strong though. The only thing that saves this place is its location and atmosphere. Being right in midtown helps this place out a lot. Any big event going on in the area, which does occur often, will draw people to this bar. There are some dart boards and a skee-ball game as well, which is pretty cool. The place is also very spacious. Overall, this place feels neglected. The things that keep this place afloat are its location, friendly wait staff and the large indoor and outdoor space.

This was my second time at 3rd street bar for a friends birthday. Great drink prices and excellent food options to pair with. They have the perfect amount of seating along with access to dart boards. The moving animal head on the wall is hilarious. I got a grilled cheese. The Apple and cheese combination was excellent with the basil addition.

Customer service was amazing. Drink selection is decent. The ONLY problem I have is the food selection. Their attached restaurant is vegan based. I got the brunch potatoes and they just weren’t my vibe, especially for $7. I wouldn’t come back only because I can’t get drunk and eat vegan food. Everything else was good though

It's an old spacious building with sensible updates I particularly enjoy. The atmosphere and culture is definitely college, but you're going to have to pony up some cash, possibly your parent's or some freed up by student loans... Lol. 3 lebatt bottles and two Hop Waters set us back 30 dollars somehow, and they ran the card they held for the tab, when we tried to pay with cash. There's a quieter space in the back with dining tables and a 2nd bar you can actually take a phone call in, despite the main area being too loud for a phone call. They serve food. They have the 5 gallon water jug with disposable cups to satisfy water requirements nicely. Overall great if semi-affluent young drunk people your scene, but pay as you go if you want to...

I'm just responding to the comment by Elisa Gautam. I was there that night. A group all came in, obviously in the same party, kept ordering the cheapest drinks, one drink at a time, and were not tipping on them. One person was calmly isolated out by a bartender on that, and he lied and said he wasnt part of the group (even when coming and leaving with them) and instead of just taking the easy way out, he tried to blow up about it. Learn to take an L, dude, and teach friends how the service industry works. Name search me, I was the guy sitting there and not anyone that works there. Even worse that you passively aggressively use the Internet...
