I keep trying this place, probably another 20 times in the last 2 years. It's good about 25% of the time. 50% of the time it is unremarkable. The last 25% of the time it's bad.
Their hallmark is spicy with no flavor. Just Disappointing really.
I typically get takeout but one time when I went for dine in the experience encapsulated the problem with this place.
It was maybe 8:30 PM and when I went to order they said they were closing soon so we could order takeout but not dine in. I asked the clerk if he knew of another Indian place open late. With a smug voice he said, āMcDonaldās.ā We ended up going to Astoria in Dearborn which had dine in til midnight. It was great.
The staff and ownership knows that there is little competition so they do the bare minimum.
This place is running on borrowed time.

Itās just fine. Certainly the best Indian food in Detroit proper.
They always get the textures of proteins and veggies correct. But the flavor is boring. Please make the food taste correct.
If you donāt specify spice it tastes bland. If you ask for spicy it doesnāt have a balanced flavorāitās just boring in your face spicy, like hot sauce.
Maybe Iām not used to this style of Indian food and it is by design, but it tastes like the chef isnāt trying.

Detroit health department needs to come the asap. Website advertising is not what is done on the restaurant. I spend money on Uber eats everyday but I have never treated like this as a customer. On this order as you can see, there is about four or five items that I order or even more but mainly, I order the goat dish because it says dry, but they probably gave me a curry or somebody elseās order and on the other side the shrimp dish was not even there and I called the restaurant and restaurant and try to blame to the poor dasher that she probably did. What is she going to do with that my food? She canāt probably even eat because it was spicy, I would like to request from Uber eats customer service to contact me as soon as possible. I donāt want my money back but I would like to report this restaurant. Front desk lady who answered the phone said restaurant never makes the mistake. They advertise one thing one thing on the picture but real dish is not even close to that. Oily food. Packaging wasnāt even done correctly. Bag was leaking. I will never ever order...

That 25 minutes came and went then was told another 5 minutes. Itās been almost 10 and my food still isnāt ready. But people that dined in and got the same thing as me are eating. And I still donāt have my food. Was my first time here and I will not ever come back here.
In response to your reply, I am no stranger to having to being short staffed. So you justify the situation by blaming it on staffing? 2 people came in at least 10 minutes after me and ordered 2 of the EXACT same thing plus more and still got their food before I received my carry out. Then someone says 5 minutes and then the front desk girl says 2 minutes and neither of those times were true! After I had already waited over 30 minutes. Whatās even worse is the food was gross!
