Blimpie — Restaurant in Detroit

There was a death of a friend and I was looking to get pita wraps or something to that effect to send over to the family. When I searched for "Pita shops" I ended up with the number to this restaurant. My call was answered by Alex who provided, not only information but, advice for sending the best gift for the situation. This young man was VERY interested in making certain that I received what I wanted and needed. After we had decided on the best option and we were preparing to place the order, I realized that THIS "Blimpie" restaurant was over 30 miles away from me! I apologized to Alex and he proceeded as if there were no inconvenience at all...AND...even helped me beyond that ... in order to best insure that I was going to be happy with what I ordered...no matter where I ordered from!!! Now, THAT was incredible. When I called back the next day to tell his manager about what a fine gentleman and employee he had in Alex, he proudly told me that Alex was his son, to which I replied..."Well done Dad!". Detailed Review: This official Blimpies franchise location reduces the amount of meat found in a typical Blimpies sandwich in order to remain on the cheaper side for college students and locals so that they dont break the bank (typically a $16 sandwich down to $8). They also use equipment and serve food seperately that stays clean for anyone that eats Halal, including chicken, steak, tuna, turkey bacon, and vegetarian options. With Homemade sauce and great customer service, the owner Nick is there to make sure you can afford good food with whatever health or religious requirements you have!

This review is long overdue considering this place was my refuge during college. I loved the halal menu (buffalo chicken spinach wrap with chipotle and sweet onion sauce!), but what enhanced the food was the service. Nick the manager has probably seen me in every emotional state: hard exams, scholarship wins, even graduation. I've worked with him for funding student organization events and he's always happy to help! He's always ready with a smile and he'll remember your face and ask if you want to "make it rain" on your sandwich (the answer is yes ofc). His employees, whether family members or students, also tend to be kind and ready with a smile. Get a card for those hole punches, because once you start you wont stop returning. I hope this place continues to thrive for...
