First of all, I want to apologize for leaving a negative review. I usually avoid writing bad reviews unless it’s absolutely necessary. If you check my profile, you’ll see that I rarely do this. However, I’ve heard several negative comments about this business (from other locations, not this one), and unfortunately, my experience aligns with them.

I visited this location to try the lunchbox they advertise for $9.99. It looked appealing in the advertisement, and I was hopeful. I have no complaints about the cleanliness, the location, or the staff—the employees were genuinely friendly and welcoming.

However, the real issue was the food. The lunchbox I received was honestly disappointing. It felt like it was made from leftovers—the curries were nearly empty, and what I got was mostly just gravy with little to no meat or vegetables. I had selected the items myself, but it didn’t seem to matter.

Many people walk 10–15 minutes from their workplace in downtown to get lunch here. When the food served is of such poor quality, it feels like a waste of time and money. If you’re unable to offer decent portions or fresh food at this price point, it might be better to either improve the quality or reconsider the offering entirely.

That said, I do wish the best for the business and its staff, and I hope they take this feedback constructively. Good...

I work at a restaurant just a few blocks away. My co-workers and I are always looking for a place to eat after our shift. I wanted to try this spot before we put it on our favorite's list. The place was empty Friday night. I ordered the Butter Chicken, three different types off Naan bread and extra rice. I enjoyed everything. I collected by backpack and said thank you to the staff. I had only walked about a block when suddenly the manager was chasing after me. He wanted to know if I had paid my bill. When you order at the counter, you pay and then you find a table and wait for your food. I was vey confused as to how I would have not paid. He wanted to see a receipt but when the cashier processed my credit card, I declined the printed receipt as I almost always do. I logged into my CHASE bank app and showed him the $55.89 charge. $15.00 was for the tip. I don't know why I was profiled, I don't look like I live on the streets. I wish that I could forget that part of my dining experience but I cannot. I don't like being accused of theft. I will share my experience with my fellow restaurant co-workers. They can decide if they want to risk being chased after once they leave this restaurant. Midnight Temple is open late. They are in Eastern Market. They wont...

In town for a conference and decided to try Noorjahan after a couple disappointing and expensive meals elsewhere. Very glad I stopped in. Food was very good and large portion for the price. I went with the Chili chicken medium spicy and garlic naan. The chili chicken was on point and is my go to Indian dish. If I was traveling with multiple people I would’ve loved to try more dishes. Price was great for the amount of food and quality. Ate half for dinner the next night. I’ve genuinely been pretty surprised at how expensive very average food has been in downtown Detroit. After 2 not so great restaurants in a row I was pretty happy to find Noorjahan. I got the food to go so can’t speak to dine in experience. I did order to go at the counter and wait for my food. The young lady working the counter and also serving was very friendly and welcoming. If I lived in town I’d...

I was heading to another place to eat but they were closed. So, I tried here. Food: The food was good I had their lunch special for $10. It has rice, salad, lamb curry, and vegetable curry. All of it was good and hot. The only thing was the salad was more onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers than lettuce. Other than that it was good. Service: The service wasn't bad but the person at the register spoke really fast. I couldn't grasp what she stated the first time. So, I stumbled through the menu while piecing together the lunch box. Atmosphere: I didn't eat in but overall the place was clean. Overall, It was a good experience, the service was quick, and I would go back and try something different. They have a large menu with some good selections to choose from.

I want to immediately note that the woman who took our order was patient, kind and efficient. Sadly, the food was terrible. All of the entrees we ordered, chicken tikka masala, aloo gobi and malai kofta, were swimming in oil and not flavorful at all. We ordered the malai kofta mild and it was by far the spiciest dish. The remaining dishes we ordered medium but they had no noticeable spice. The mango lassi and vegetable pakora were pleasant. Overall not worth the $70 or the tummy aches that resulted.
