Don't have high expectations for this place.
I heard nothing but good things about this place, but unfortunately we did not have a good experience. We were celebrating a bachelorette night. I had made a reservation for 10:30pm for 12 girls, knowing this is a popular place. Your reservation is only for 2 hours mind you and you have to buy a set amount of drinks in that time.
We arrived at 10:25pm. I checked in and the host told me it would be 5 minutes before we could be seated. 10 minutes later I went to go check in again and the host claimed there was a mistake and we would have to wait longer. After 20 more minutes, I checked in again and this time the Manager was there telling me it would be another 10 minutes. I informed the manager that we have been waiting almost 30 minutes at this point for a reservation I had confirmed for 10:30. The manager had a very unprofessional attitude with me at this point and wasn't accommodating.
We finally got seated at a table (at 11:05pm) that did not have seats for all of us. Which fine, some of us stood we were just happy to be in the karaoke area. We quickly put in our requests for karaoke, knowing our time was limited. 45 minutes went by and the pianist didn't call our group to the stage at all while other parties seated after us had been called to the stage. I addressed this with the pianist so he moved us next in line. Then the Manager kept bringing up girls to cut the karaoke line and sing on stage. We only got to sing two songs by the time our reservation was finished, because I went up there both times to address the pianist as to why it was very unfair.
Lastly, the Manager did buy my sister a drink on the house for the occasion, but that did not excuse his unwanted behavior. The manger is very touchy with girls, gliding his hand to their lower backs and being very touchy feely. This behavior is unacceptable.
On a side note, John the owner of the establishment has been very accommodating. He was who I originally booked the reservation through and he listened to my concerns after our experience. He was quick to reach out and offer a resolution to our concerns. You can tell he wants everyone to have a good experience. He is the reason we will be giving Sid's in Detroit another try at some point...
Read moreWe were there for less than 15 minutes. He made 3 drinks for us. $40. We tipped $5. This was in reflection of our interaction. As he saw the tip, he rolled his eyes, made a rude face and said “why would you tip this? Shouldn’t there be a 1 in front of this?” Implying he expected $15. My friend said “your demeanor and attitude wasn’t very welcoming” and we left after that. I’ve been a bartender and I’ve received some great tips and some not so great ones. I’ve NEVER asked a patron why they tipped me what they did. It was such a turn off to add to the already existing negativity.
We were pretty regular customers for about 6 months (coming in like 1-2x a month). Wolf was a great bartender! He made my birthday last year so fun and enjoyable.
We’d recommended this place to many of our friends and brought a lot of our friends here. Thats changed with our last visit.
When we entered it was a moderately busy but not crazy/hectic night. I recognized who I believe to be the owner or manager working and asked if Wolf was still working there. This started our experience off on a bad note - as soon as I asked that he very curtly said “no he’s no longer working here”. I expressed my disappointment lightheartedly and moved on quickly. I asked if they had any egg white drinks and he acted like I asked for something so ridiculous and out of the question (it’s fairly common in my experience).
We all independently noticed his rudeness but continued on to hopefully keep it positive. I started explaining the drink wolf always made us which was a spicy drink. Very rudely, he said “um?a margarita?” I explained it was not a margarita but I’m flexible if he can whip something up that’s spicy! I was just trying to be positive and enjoy one of our fav spots.
Idk if you’ve ever felt this way at a bar, but it felt as if we were inconveniencing him by just ordering our drinks. He never cracked a smile and it was just so off from our usual experience.
Wolf made you feel like he genuinely enjoyed making the drinks and getting creative. We did NOT get that this time.
Soooo disappointing. I loved this...
Read moreMe and my family decided to come visit for my mom's birthday on 1/18. She decided on this establishment due to the karaoke. Our experience was nothing short of extreme rudeness. The hostess (blonde hair with large tattoo on upper right arm) provided one of the worst customer service experiences I've ever received. She spoke to my mother in a very condescending way when we were simply trying to ask if we could keep our original reservation because the table wasn't big enough for our party. She walked away in the middle of the conversation and never came back. The waitress proceeded to tell us she was quitting in two weeks because she couldn't stand working for the establishment. We couldn't make this stuff up if we wanted. Because she was quitting I guess it was fitting that she didn't need to provide quality service. She disappeared for long stretches. She was the only waitress which was another issue. They have exactly ONE waitress to serve easily 60 people. The room for karaoke is very small for the amount of people they allow in. The mics were barely audible because it was too loud to hear those performing. They even gave our song away to another group to perform. The drinks are extremely overpriced. They charge $14 for moscow mules!! I would not recommend going here until they do some serious overhaul. It is very apparent they do not want certain people in their establishment and go above and beyond to make sure those people do...
