I honestly couldn't wait to post this review. I will have to say this is a business model business and people should definitely stay away from. I think if it wasn't in such a prime location I don't think there would be many people here. The irritation started right from the beginning from the gentleman at the door letting people in who was putting wristbands on. He did a ok (slightly) job putting women's wristbands on but when it came to men I noticed everyone and including myself. Instead of putting the wristband on in a straight fashioned he made an x with the tape which stuck to your hair. Very irritating. He kinda chuckled, almost made me think it was on purpose. Anyway, there was little to no direction. I get to the bar to order drinks and you needed tokens. Nobody said anything to us and they were rushing us in the door because there were so many people. So we had to wait in line to get tokens and you don't know how many drinks are for each token. So kind of a guessing game. We did figure it out towards the end. Next the bartender game getting a drink was very difficult. Two of the three bartenders were rude. One of the bartenders actually broke a bottle of liquor. Some of the glass went into the ice. They proceeded to serve people drinks right out of that ice. Gosh I hope nobody got hurt. One thing if management could learn would help. Would be to let the bartenders run a credit card with tap to pay these days. It would cause no issue speed the process up and stop two lines in a bar for drinks and tokens....
Read moreI had a thoroughly disappointing encounter with an incredibly hostile employee at The Brakeman, which left me questioning whether I would ever return. I understand that everyone can have a bad day, but there's no excuse for the level of rudeness and hostility I experienced.
This happened after I approached the bar to get back my ID after playing ping pong, the employee seemed disinterested and unapproachable after no one was around to help me retrieve my ID. I tried to ask a simple question, but I was met with a snappy response that made me feel like I was inconveniencing them by even being there. It felt like I was being talked down to, and they made no effort to be friendly or welcoming.
The employee's attitude only worsened. It was clear that customer service was the last thing on their mind. She was shouting in front of everyone and was ready to fight.
The entire experience left me feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. It's a shame because The Brakeman has a lot of potential, but the attitude of this employee really spoiled the night for me. If the management doesn't address this type of behavior, I can't see myself returning or recommending this place to others. Customer service should be a priority, and this employee clearly missed the memo. If you're looking for a bar with a friendly and inviting atmosphere, I suggest finding...
Read moreGood fun atmosphere however some of the staff was unpleasant. Asked for a white claw and the staff was rude and seemed upset that I did not want the other option (which is not a good alternative). Then when ordering cocktails, the bartender seemed upset about the mere fact of ordering any cocktails, the bartender was more concerned about the current conversation with a friend. The bar does not have an add on tip option to the receipt due to the fact that they are a no tip establishment however this made each drink 10 dollars. There is also confusion in the bar due to lack of educating the customers. The bar uses the idea of buying tickets for beer while using cash for cocktails. This is an interesting business practice and takes away from the experience of the venue which is confusing at best. At the end of the night, closing time, we were asked to finish our drink and stop all socialization. I understand that we need to wrap up and leave yet it was not made in a polite way and the security was the worst and most rude out of all of the employees. The Brakeman should due rid of the ticket booths, relax a little on last call and find employees that are eager to...
