where do i begin? let’s start with a timeline. a party of 4 is seated at 8:20pm. At 8:35pm, a member of our party asks if our drink orders will be taken soon. A waiter immediately comes to us apologizing about an apparent ipad update that prevented him from taking our orders (he never checked in beforehand saying he was having technical difficulties). 8:36pm 4 waters, 2 margaritas, 1 appetizer, a chicken crisper meal with loaded mac and cheese, a triple dipper, shrimp fajitas, and a brisket burger were ordered. 8:45pm waters are there, no margs, the waiter tells us they ran out of brisket. we order an additional chicken crisper as a replacement. 9pm member of our party asks a busser about the margs (waiter M.I.A.). 9:05pm waiter tells us they’re out of “coconut” (unsure of mix or rum but then clarified at that moment just no “coconut”?). 9:10pm we get different margs we ordered. still no food. 9:30pm we get our appetizer and 1 chicken crisper but NO loaded mac. 9:33pm we get our fajitas. 9:40pm waiter asks “how’s the food?” what food? 2 people still have no food. 9:50pm member of our party talks to the manager because 2 meals still have not arrived and other tables are coming and going within 30 mins of sitting down. 10pm triple dipper (cold) and another appetizer???? we speak to different waiter Bobby. we love Bobby. 10:05pm brisket burger(?) come out. that’s weird, i thought brisket was no more??? OG waiter comes back and says to us “i’m not mad at you, we’re all adults but you should have talked to me about issues instead of management”. what? he was nowhere to be found and felt like he was avoiding our table? he would not take accountability and deflected every issue saying it was the kitchen’s fault for not communicating with him. we told him we wish he would’ve checked in with us more often just giving updates even if there were no updates and he told us we didn’t understand what it was like to be a server even though member of seated party has been a server before (his demeanor changed when this job history was mentioned, he had no excuse now). no accountability was taken. he said the kitchen didn’t say anything to him about the food order HE placed for our table. one would think a server is supposed to be the liaison between the table and the kitchen. he took credit for comping half our meal when the manager told us that’s what the manager was going to do. when paying, waiter hovered over us, hovering his hand over the kiosk while we determined what “tip” to give him. he snatched the kiosk away from us once credit card was removed and he promptly skipped the survey portion that is on all Chili’s transactions through the kiosk. while putting the tip in, he tried joking with us to encourage a bigger tip as if the last 2 hours did not happen. I understand we visited on a Friday night, but this is not the first time we visited during peak hours on a Friday before at this location. Every other time, our waiter has been transparent and communicative with us. Our waiter tonight was absent and didn’t take responsibility for things fully in his control speaking for 2 party members at the table who worked in the food...
Read moreSo I heard about this special chili's opening in Scranton based on the office and had to go cause I love chili's and it’s a dope themed location with a exclusive menu item, the awesome blossom, but there wasn’t anything awesome about this trip to chili's…
Let’s start at the beginning. As me and my friend got into chili's we immediately started looking around at all the office themed decorations and even realized the staff had office themed shirts on! We thought it was really cool. Then we get seated quickly and our waitress came over pretty immediately being nice and talkative, she takes our order, we both got the 3 for me, two burgers, two soups, drinks and chips and salsa, and lastly the awesome blossom, the waitress puts in the order and our drinks and chips come out quick! Maybe just a few minutes. I know what you’re thinking, it’s a 1 star review but everything sounds good? Well unfortunately this is when everything went wrong. After our chips and drinks get to the table, maybe 3 minutes later our burgers get to the table! We’ve yet to receive our soups and our awesome blossom! So me and my friend look at each other and I jokingly say, I guess we are eating buffet style today. Now finally our soup gets here and then after that the awesome blossom. Now if you know chili's then you know your waitress isn’t the one always bringing you your food, it’s the staff form the back, every staff member looking at the table realizing that something has gone wonky here cause our burgers are already here before the apps, btw this whole time we’ve been eating our waitress never came back! No refills on our empty cups for the full duration of our meal! So we were just upset and ready to go! Now yall might be thinking, well why didn’t you send the food back? Or say something? I don’t do that for fear of being violated. So finally the waitress comes back and says has the manger been over here? I say no. She says would you like me to get the manger? I say yes, I don’t think she foreseen me saying yes cause then she changes the subject and just kinda talks to us like we are all friends!
In conclusion, it’s a cool spot with exclusive items and good food but the service was horrible, but if you are in the area and are a office fan, I’d say it’s worth...
Read moreI was so excited to be back at Chili’s since this area has been without one for the past few years. Unfortunately, the experience at this location was awful. It was a busy Saturday night so we had to wait over 30 minutes for a table. Then we finally get seated and then wait for a server to come to us just to take a drink order. We finally place our order when the server comes and was told there was no chips and salsa so we would need to wait on that because they ran out of chips but were making some. About 15 minutes later we get some chips and a half serving of salsa. As we wait, we watch people who sat down after us get their food. Mind you, there were only 2 of us and we ordered a salad and chicken crispers. Nothing intricate. Now it’s been an hour and still sitting there with no food. Finally, the server comes over and more or less says “something” happened with our ticket but she doesn’t know what and they just refired the ticket. The chicken crispers they had were old and they didn’t even make the salad yet. We asked what caused it and she couldn’t tell us and said she wanted to have her manager come over and talk to us but couldn’t find them. This was the servers 2nd table tonight that had their food order disappear. Then the server said she would go try and find her manager but if we wanted to cancel and leave she understood. We got there at 7:30pm, it’s now 10pm so yeah we had enough and decided to leave. I get things happen, mistakes happen but how a company and their employees react and handle those situations make all the difference. When a customer’s order goes missing and it’s been an hour, a manager should be aware and keeping tabs on situations like that. A server should not be the one to come out and try to smooth over a situation like that when clearly they are not trained on how to handle it. The manager should have been the one to come over, explain the situation and offer some solutions and/or apologies for the inconvenience and frustration. But no, nothing like that happened at all. Not even a coupon to try and lure us back again. As I said earlier, mistakes happen and we get that, but incompetence will be the demise of a business and from my experience, that entire restaurant is from kitchen to management is...
