I made an appointment online for 10 am. I had been camping with my two dogs and I like to get them a bath after. I got there about 20 minutes early but the grooming center was empty. When a groomer showed up she said it might be a while as she "wasn't supposed to be there". Ok.. not my problem. Again, there were no other dogs or people there. She asked for my vaccination records wich I handed over. After looking over them she said she cant take them because they were hand written dates. She asked her manager, for about another 5 minute conversation, and said she would need to call the vet. It was a mobile vet that comes to pet shops for low cost vaccines so I didn't want to bother with this delay at this point. The records had all official stickers and signatures from the vet. It's just a stupid policy from Petco but the manager and groomer acted like I was trying to scam them. No way I was letting them touch my dogs after that. She could have had one of my dogs bathed by the time they were done inspecting my records. Won't ever go back...

The lady there proceeded to tell him that they have a new policy (which we were not informed about when we made the appointment) and that they needed all this new paperwork from the vet. They called the vet and got the clearance from them to groom her. This lady continued to give my husband a hard time about some medication that she was taking and grooming her. Meanwhile, they had the OK from the vet on the phone and they told my husband, he had to physically go get a letter from the vet in order to groom her while she was taking thyroid medication. As mentioned, they had the the vet on the phone and they okayed grooming her. The lady at the grooming department was fighting my husband tooth and nail from the start. Horrible customer service. It seems that every single time we go in there for grooming, they give us some sort of problem. Needless to say we will not be returning to the Dillon PETCO ever again for grooming or to buy any other product we may need for any...
Read moreI was in this store 8/26/2023 to return something that was purchased as a present for me. Despite policy changes, the staff and manager were able to assist me in my return and were professional and pleasant while doing so. They went above and beyond to help me with this particular item and I am extremely thankful.
It would behoove anyone visiting this store to remember that currently finding employees is extremely difficult. Many businesses are short staffed and struggling to maintain their business at the level it was when fully staffed. This is especially true in Colorado's small tourist towns. Finding enough employees that can work year round and are able to find housing to stay in the area is extremely hard right now. Does that mean sometimes stores will be a little messy, with stock waiting to be shelved, and less employees available to answer questions? Yes. Please show our local businesses some grace.
