UPDATE: 1/16/2020. Went back after the reply to my review and found much better customer experience with Kevin and crew helping me out getting the boots and liners heated and refit quickly. Actually had the whole store check in with me and help out. Seems it was a bad egg with customer service and Iâd now definitely recommend these guys and this store.
My experience with this store was very disappointing. After spending over 2500 on ski products through them at the Colorado Ski and Snowboard Expo and getting great help there through Sun&Ski employees from other US stores, I expected similar service when dealing with the closest local store. After calling the day prior to see what turnaround time to expect for getting my bindings put on two pairs of skis, when we showed up instead of same to next day, it was 3 days out. The store employee who helped us, Ray, said a bunch of people came in that morning and now we would likely not ski or have to pay for rentals to make the ski weekend with hotels, etc worthwhile. He reminded me it was done âas a favor to youâ for buying at the expo and was a free so I shouldnât be surprised there would be a delay. I get that but he was very dismissive and if they had just set expectations that it might get delayed, I wouldnât have felt we ruined a weekend. So instead of renting skis for more money than binding attachment would cost elsewhere, I walked across the street to Christyâs Sports where they mounted bindings on one pair in ten minutes (a system ski so wouldâve been just as easy at Sun&Ski) and the second pair within an hour, albeit for their charge of $50 each. I also care back the next day to Sun&Ski to ask about boot fitting since the ones recommended and fit for me by Sun&Ski were very painful and actually caused my right foot to be numb for over a week. Ray quickly and defensively stated it wasnât their issue and to find a boot fitting company elsewhere. Very unhelpful and unprofessional experience and I certainly wonât be back to that store location with other more customer service oriented...
Read moreThis store isnât terrible, but I had a pretty bad experience today with a dude named Bryan. I havenât skiiâd in about 20 years and I went to go get my reservation (for 5 days) at the beginning of a skii trip with my family. The dude who fitted me for my boots was from the city I was from in Oklahoma, and my brotherâs girlfriend and I were speaking to him as we were getting our fitting. During my fitting, he asked me to put on only my right boot, which fit at the time. Thinking nothing of it, I signed my contract, and left. I attended a skii class the following day and noticed excruciating pain and neuropathy in my left foot and somewhat in my right foot. Due to the boots not fitting, I wasnât able to skii after the first day for the next two days, and we were staying in Breck and I wasnât able to bring them back down due to snow coming in. Upon arriving I asked to exchange my boots, and requested that 2 of my days on my res be refunded because I genuinely didnât use my skiiâs due to an ill fitting by the shoe tech. First thing Bryan asked me was âwhy the boots had snowâ on them, and I responded with we had brought them down in our truck and some snow got on them. During the exchange process, despite clearing my 2 day return with I think the manager? Bryan basically told me that âthere wasnât that much snowâ, implying that there was no excuse to not bring the boots back sooner. As a native Oklahoman, I didnât feel comfortable traveling from Breck back to Dillion with fresh powder on the roads. Especially after not being in CO for 20 years. At the end, he told me he was only refunding me for one day, and he also stated that his shoe tech was âone of the bestâ but homeboy was distracted the entire time, myself with a witness or two from my group. The nicest thing Bryan did was tell me repeatedly to have a nice day after I thanked him for the condescension, which was said in the snarkiest tone. Bro has no business being in customer service, and this placeâs leadership is out of alignment. Shop wherever you want, but...
Read moreWhen I dropped my board off for a base grind, everything seemed legit. When I picked it up....I first noticed they forgot to wax the board...it says hot wax, he took it the belt waxer and came out 10 seconds later. For their top tuning service, this is a joke. (Maybe re-do your wording, hot wax does not equal a quick run over a belt waxer. This would be considered a thorough "rub on")
Now for the big mistake, I should have taken my bindings off and reinstalled them myself. Noticed after a few runs, both of my bindings were wobbling loose, they not only used the wrong binding mount holes(knew right away before the first run, was going to chance stance at lunch) but they cross threaded them, not only once but 5/8 holes were cross threaded. Easy fix re-tapping with an m6, but I didn't pay ~$80 to only have more work to do....So unprofessional I hope it doesn't happen to anyone else.
Just make sure you handle your own bolts and bring a bare board...
