Looking to replace damaged gear on short notice Thursday and was incredibly lucky to run into Jamie at Christy Frisco (fourth retail stop). For the level of gear, He handed me off to Eli at Christy Dillon. Thanks Jamie! Eli's technical boot fitting knowledge and interpersonal skills are exemplary. He had one of two high end boots (RideInsano/SalomonMalamute). He knew I was in a bind and had destroyed a boot and needed a new set immediately. He could have sold me the Insano on hand, but instead, advised me to wait for a Malamute due to technical boot construction. He prioritized the relationship over the immediate sale. So glad he advised I wait. Thank you Eli! Eli got a pair of Malamute on the way from Denver (without deposit or cost to me) with an ETA of a couple days and also provided the option I drive down to Denver for pickup that evening (Thursday). I declined that evening due to weather and rush hour timing driving down I70 and then back up to mountains.
Next morning, I decided I really wanted to try and make the Friday board demo I had scheduled (Donek). I checked Christy online to try to locate the Malamute pair. I found downtown and WinterPark where showing one in my size. Fearing the downtown location might have already shipped their pair, I called WinterPark and spoke with Bruce who confirmed. (Thanks Bruce!). I drove the hour+ to WP and the boots fit exactly like Eli advised. Bruce was gone when I got to WP so worked with Nathan. There was some confusion as to honoring the online pricing which I thought I would be paying before the drive. The 15% WP local tax should not apply to soft goods sales. The new guy Nathan did what he could to get me out the door paying just above online price. WP didn't have the binding (RideElHefe), but I already knew Dillon had it. Bought binding online w store pickup Dillon as soon as I walked out the WP location with boots. Drove hour+ back at Dillon and learned the online sales store pickup may actually result in a binding being shipped from Denver and not necessarily allow me to pick up the exact same binding they had in store. Further more, I received a notice from the online order that the order was on hold for some reason anyway. Double fail: was looking like a lost weekend without riding. Eli and Terra worked together and quickly offered they release the Dillon store display inventory to me as I agreed to swap with the new set I had shipping to the Dillon store. Thank you Eli and Terra! Outstanding support, interpersonal, logistic and executive function.
Today (Mon), I was emailed the order hold was due to web backend issue unable to verify the Dillon store address (yes, even the address of their own store in Dillon). I considered it could also possibly be delayed and aggregated into a regular Dillon store shipment. This of course didnt effect me or my relationship with Christy Sports. Christy staff already saved my weekend including Friday Donek demo, Sat,Sun,Mon at Copper and WP with a 8" powder day Monday morning. I had since picked up another board from the Dillon store as well as directed 3 client families to Christy Dillon and a family member to Christy online. The online inventory locator and shopping combined with Christy "make it happen" staff works for me. Thanks to Adam Gillespie for having Terra and Eli on the team, and thanks to Matt Gold and the O'Winter family for having Adam Gillespie in Dillon and all the other pieces of the...
Read moreI'm a Summit Co local and religious skier. If you're a serious skier looking for people who really know their stuff and can be trusted to give you actual good advice and handle your precious equipment, this is the place!
Cooper and Andy upstairs are the best boot guys in Summit Co.. Superb fitters: boot fitting is becoming a lost art and these guys are awesome and REALLY know their stuff. They are among the few remaining true boot fitters out there. They will get you into the absolute right boot and fine tune everything about it into oblivion until it's perfect. They're great at helping with other boot related problems that arise with those of us that put 40-50+ days a season onto our boots.
Ross downstairs is the only person who I trust to work on or give advice about mine or my wife's skis. He is an expert! I would lend my house out to strangers for the night before I would bring my skis to anyone but Ross.
Main point, these guys get it! They are real skiers that ski as hard as I do and that understand the lifestyle and commitment of a true skier. They are super low-key, friendly, and always looking to help. They will help you with the types of problems that real skiers have. They won't just try to sell you new equipment. They will help you keep your current gear in great shape and give you honest, knowledgeable advice about what to do when you have a problem.
Cooper, Ross and Andy have each individually really gone the extra mile for my wife and I on quite a few occasions. Not just acting as an employee to a customer, but as a friend to a friend. They have helped me to solve some really odd issues, taking extra time and effort to make sure that a fellow skier could enjoy, perform and be safe. THESE GUYS ARE AWESOME! I'd give 6 stars if that...
Read moreChristy Sports should be proud to have an employee like John Lindhorst. Not only is his boot fitting technical skills the best I've ever had, his politeness and friendliness make him a true credit to your company.
I bought my Salomon boots at the Christy's store in Breckenridge 4 or 5 years ago. Because of a increasing deformity in my left foot, I've needed to have the boots serviced every year, usually at the Christy's Frisco store. This year circumstances, and the new building, brought me to the Christy's in Dillon. I stopped in on Tuesday and was told that I needed to see the expert, John, because of all the previous work that had been done on the boot.
Yesterday I stopped in and describe my problem to John and he spent well over half an hour with me trying different things and finally was able to relieve pain in my foot. He told me to try it and then come back because he thinks he could even do more. I can't say I skied pain-free today, but it was my least painful ski day in the last 3 years. I came back this afternoon after skiing and he made further adjustments that made the boot feel even better.
I'm so pleased to have been recommended to John, and so happy with the work he was able to do on my boot. Because of this, I will be recommending Christy's to all of my friends and family.
Thank...
