To begin with we called an hour before hand to get on the waitlist and mentioned we would be there at 8pm. Once we arrived the hostess told us it would be a 10 minute wait. We gather to sit at the bar and order some things, the hostess comes up to us asking us if we could move so others could sit at the bar, we expressed that we were ordering things. Then after 25 minutes of waiting and watching them sit other people as we wait, we asked when we would be seated and the hostess told us that she was just waiting for an open table to be cleaned, after waiting we noticed she had seated people at said table. The manager walks by and we speak to him and he seemed to get defensive? Saying that we had 7 people in our party which is definitely understanding except the fact that we called an hour before hand as well as waiting at the restaurant for another 30 minutes. It would have been professional to mention that the wait would be an hour to an hour and a half then we would know what we are getting into except we received false information that it was just a 10 minute wait. The manager was not understanding and told us he did not know the wait time. Just overall rude. Last but not least once we have realized that we would be sitting there for who knows how long, we over hear the hostess speaking with a customer about us and the situation in Spanish assuming we wouldn’t be able to understand. Really disappointing experience. We really felt like a in convinces, the staff should have communicated properly with us we would have had no issue waiting if they had told us from the beginning the wait time. The only kind one was the bartender, super sweet. We just wanted to feel welcomed and have some pizza to celebrate my...
Read more11/16/19 update - Today when we entered they were not super busy and we were greeted fairly quickly and seated. And then things went a little sideways. At least two tables that were seated after us were waited on while we were sitting and waiting. Finally the hostess who seated us came over, apologized and said they were a little busy so she took our drink and food order. While we were in the restaurant they did get really busy. Beyond getting our food our service was a bit lax.
Our food arrived in a timely manner with our dry rub #2 wings arriving first. They had an excellent flavor and came with some celery and sweet pepper all on a small bed of lettuce with a sort of cucumber ranch dip on the side. When we were just about done with the wings our pizza arrived. We ordered the Paulie's Pie with half sweet peppers and half hot peppers. I had them clarify which side had hot peppers and which had sweet peppers. The hot peppers. While not what I am used to they were very good and not overpoweringly hot. They called them finger peppers and they were fairly large and baked perfectly on the pizza. I waited an unusually long time to get a refill on my drink but they were very quick to bring us our check and process it. While this is not the standard of service I am used to from here they did get everything done and the food was excellent as usual.
We have been here something like 4 times over the last few years (we don't live too close). The food is always good and the service is always friendly. Try one of their specialty pizzas if you can't make up your mind. The meatball and mozzarella...
Read moreAfter being so unfortunate as to have not been in the presence of this pizza for almost 3 MONTHS, I have finally returned to Anthony’s coal fired pizza. Coming to a new location I questioned how good it would be, “Could it possibly meet my high altitude of expectations?” I thought to myself.
Upon entry we were seated very hastily showing the aptitude and ability of the waiters since the place was, rightfully, very crowded. The ice served with my beverage was beyond spectacular. My garlic knots came very quickly and in an unbelievable good fortune for myself there was not just the 12 garlic knots we ordered, but 16 gosh darn garlic knots (outstanding) which were brilliantly coated in a delicious garlic, perfectly cooked, and coated with a warm layer of Parmesan. Upon ordering the pizza, I eagerly anticipated what I had greatly looked forward to. The pizza took some time but in the words of famous American author Danielle Steel: “Some things in life are worth waiting for” this is a perfect description of Anthony’s.
Finally the pizza arrived. It not only met my great memories, but exceeded them. You will forever regret your decision if you do not get the Mike’s Hot Honey & thick-cut pepperoni pizza. It is the best pizza ever created (which is saying something because dominos exists) and I would give this 6 stars if I could. I swear on this: You will not regret your decision if you go to Anthony’s coal...
