Overall review: I give this Fogo location a 2 stars.
Food & Service: Before I discuss the food, I want it to be clear that I’ve been to multiple Fogos throughout the states and always had a great experience .
My wife, father in-law and I went to this specific location and immediately was hit with overwhelming noise from a busting full restaurant which typically is never an issue as I could care less; however, it was so loud that I could not hear our waiter on multiple occasions. We get sat down by a nice waitress who took our orders which we all requested the full experience.
Once our orders were placed we were offered bottom sirloin which per usual was very delicious though we all noticed that the steak was not seasoned with a decent amount of salt like it usually is coming from our experience at other Fogos. We also noticed that the meat was cooked to a rare but close to a blue rare due to from what we could guess was the cooks wanting to push out product fast due to the amount of people inside.
After our bottom sirloin we were then offered mozzarella with honey which I personally love but this location does there mozzarella with honey very different to the rest of the locations and the mozzarella it self is suppose to have a delicious brown sear which gives it a great crunch; however, the mozzarella was seared to the point of being burnt.
We then were offered multiple types of chicken and pork which were not interested in as we all came here for steaks.
We were then served top sirloin and bottom sirloin one more time before we’ve had enough. Now by enough I am referring to have enough patients to wait for food. We all waited approximately 10 minutes to either be served or offered meat every time and we were skipped by multiple times by staff which is disappointing as I saw a waiter coming by with sausage but ignored our table.
I can say without a doubt that this location was the worse service we’ve ever had at a Fogo.
Atmosphere: The restaurant has a very modern design with booths and tables along with art on the walls being lined up with many brands wines and spirits. There is also small sections in the restaurant that displays some of the history about the restaurant. One thing that my father in-law noticed that was on our table was a plastic cactus. I did not even notice it but when he pointed it out he did so because he wanted to show me that the cactus had a lot of dust which he used to wipe his finger across and showed me his finger coated in dust.
Conclusion: When we finally had enough waiting we decided to ask our waiter for our check; however, my father in-law insisted that we speak to the manager to which the manager did show up. We addressed our concerns with the wait time and the dust from the cactus to which the manager offered us free dessert; however, we declined as we no longer wished to wait any longer in the restaurant. The manager did come back with the check and advised us that they would not charge us for the full experience and just charge us for the three of us using the food bar which we did not ask for a price change but it was appreciated.
In the end will I ever go back to Fogo? Absolutely I will; however, I will not return to this Fogo location again unless I am told by a trusted source that the service and food has fallen back in line with the standard of Fogo that we’ve...
Read moreOur family LOVES Brazilian steakhouses and we often go to these. Texas De Brazil, La Flama, and The Knife are just a few we have gone to. The experiences have always been fantastic. Not this time. We wanted to try Fogo for the first time for a large birthday event and we were sorely disappointed. The location was lovely and the decor gorgeous. Salad bar was fresh and full and cuts were hot. However, when dining on beef or lamb items, temperatures are always asked by the server and they were not. We let the gauchos know we wanted medium rare cuts and 2 got an attitude and walked away. We requested certain cuts and they'd just ignore us. We had to wait a long time after finishing each cut to receive another cut. This does not happen at Texas de Brazil. Usually, gauchos, keep coming by until you turn your card red. I had to beg for beef ribs and lamb and they didn't arrive until the very end when I was already full. The cheese with honey, 2 people were offered then they walked away and never came back with more for the rest of the table. It looked and smelled delicious but I wouldn't know. We were a table of 11 with 4 celebrating birthdays. My anger was growing so much, especially when my out of town guests kept commenting they'd had better service at Texas DB (I am a local). The salad bar didn't offer any chimichurri or chutneys that are so traditionally served with lamb or steaks. The salad bar had no shrimp or octopus salad as I have found at every Brazilian establishment before. My son, 1 of the birthday boys, received every cut well or mid well, which he didn't like as he kept repeating to the gaucho. I was infuriated. He let me know he was dissatisfied and said he was "sorry for asking for this location". The beef ribs were delicious when they arrived but they came by so late we were very full. I requested to take home the left overs with a food by the pound extra charge (something all of these 'all you can' eat restaurants offer). I was told the management said no. I was told they don't offer To Go services only dine in. So if you're looking to pick up here for a nice at home meal, skip this place. Basically they preferred to throw away perfectly good food rather than earn the restaurant more money by charging us the To-Go fee. Our server started the order than we never saw him again. We ordered a bottle of wine, for which we refilled ourselves. I realize many of the positive reviews come from regular customers that do not work in the service industry as our family does. Every adult at the table has been a server, bartender, in management or back of house cook, so we knew exactly how we were being treated. We dined here on a Tuesday at 3pm. Restaurant was slow and there was simply NO EXCUSE for this lack of service. We know gratuity is always added to parties larger than 7 and didn't complain.. it would have made our already bad experience, worse and uncomfortable. I'm sorry to say, I will not...
Read more3 emails. 4 phone calls. And an open investigation and 5 days later we are still here. No help. Disgusting. PLEASE READ TIL THE END. THIS IS AN ABSOLUTE HEALTH HAZARD. THE COMPENSATION THEY OFFERED WAS ONE ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGE WITH FOUR STRAWS FOR MY 3 FRIENDS AND I AND 2 DESSERTS (for a party of 4) This experience was absolutely disgusting. I made a reservation for 8:30 and got seated approximately 24 minutes AFTER. Not only that, when my party and I were finally seated, it took them 35 minutes to offer the first piece of meat and it was cold chicken that the person was offering for a very long time(we saw him walking around offering the same sorry piece of chicken). No one wanted that. Then when they came back with bacon wrapped steak, there was only enough for one person. After about another 15 minutes we requested assistance considering the fact that it took 40 minutes or so at that point for us to be offered meat. Again, they came by with churasko and sausage ONLY ENOUGH FOR 2 PEOPLE. I asked for a supervisor and at this point we had maybe 3-4 rounds of meat offered (please keep in mind they give you a small portion per servicing since OF COURSE they’re supposed to be coming thru every few minutes.(manager took 16 minutes to assist) What took me out was the UNDERCOOKED and OVERCOOKED meat as well. You are paying give or take $70 per person and we received maybe $35 worthy of meat. It was very disappointing since I go here often (the one in I drive and TWICE since the regency location opened only 3 weeks ago) My friends and I were absolutely stunned that by the point we finally received multiple meat options, half the time it was undercooked and half the time it was overcooked. What was the most disappointing is that no one offered to comp a singular thing. (I don’t complain ever nor do I seek free meals. I even ensured to tip the serve 22% as she had NOTHING to do with the poor service we received. Again…. The manager had offered us beverages and came back with ONE beverage and 3 straws for my party if 3 and I (total 4) and 2 friends did not want to drink because they did not feel comfortable sharing a straw (rightfully so, as that is unhealthy and I will be reporting this to whomever needed to escalate the matter as this is a health hazard) and 2 desserts. I thought maybe they offered that to be nice and that they’d at least comp something (let me reiterate that I respect the service industry so I never try to get a free meal. This was New Year’s Day. I have no photos be sure I was doing my best to enjoy what I could with my friends who came in out of town but all they did was leave the absolute nastiest and miserable tastes in our mouths. The buffet was missing half the items and the items that were there were absolutely old. It wasn’t a fun or fresh experience. I mean…. 4 straws for ONE drink instead of offering each of us an individual drink. I’m escalating and reporting and expect to...
