Would definitely recommend eating here as compared to the other dinings options relatively close by based on a great quality to price ratio, fast service, and welcoming wait staff. I ate here three different times while attending a nearby conference and liked each of the meals.
Turks island chicken sliders: 4/5. The combination of house made Hawaiian bun, pineapple, and jerk chicken is very tasty. I really liked this dish. Only change I would make it to maybe split this dish into three sliders instead of two, and in doing so reduce the amount of pineapple and chicken on each slider - two pieces of each stacked up creates a slider that is too tall to eat and must be deconstructed. The sweet potato fries were not oily and sufficiently salted to have a really great taste and compliment the sliders well.
Little Havana Sliders: 3/5. These sliders were still good, but not as good as the Havana Sliders. They are a little messy to eat, so don't order this if you have a fancy business meeting here. Definitely a lot of meat slid off, but still ate it at the end with a fork. Got the yucca fries to go with this one, they were definitely not as good as the sweet potato fries. They came out very oily on the outside and still hard on the inside. The garlic on them was very good though. Server was very kind during this meal - it was after a long conference day and they definitely made it very welcoming and possible to dine alone without feeling out of place.
Mojo Chicken Sandwich: 4/5. Again, two pieces of jerk chicken is a bit much and would have preferred the guacamole spread onto the bun instead of presented in a scoop next to the onions, but, I took off one piece of chicken to eat after and formed the burger and it was pretty good. The bun aligns with the slider buns and is very tasty. Got sweet potato fries again and they again came out very tasty and with a perfect amount of salt.
In comparing the sliders from here to Descend 21 across the street, this location easily wins. They put a lot of thought into the flavors and pairings and the slider buns are really tasty.
Portion sizes are perfect for meals and left me feeling full but not overly. Prices are perfect for per diem meals for dinner, unfortunately the lunch prices are slightly above at least our per diem lunch price. Did consider not going here for lunch one day because of this, so you may want to consider lowering lunch items by $2 to hit per diem if possible.
Funny enough, got sat in the exact same chair all three visits by...
Read moreWe enjoyed sitting by the pool, with a cool breeze. However, the service is lacking. On my first visit, I was ignored as I stood inside at the bar, so I left. My second visit, I had to wait, though no one else was there. Then, I had to wait and keep checking for my order. I did not tip because I was picking up my order; no one served me. I believe because I did not tip, the male server made me wait, as he took other customers' orders. He had an order sitting on the counter next to him, as he turned his back to me (standing poolside) and took customers orders at the counter (where I was ignored the day before). Suddenly, a female employee arrived apologizing. She grabbed an order that was waiting at the cook's counter and gave it to the male hostess who still wouldn't turn around. Then, the female hostess started to address me, but was called away by a man sitting at the counter inside eating. Finally, annoyed, I asked the young lady if she had my order (now 2 orders are sitting on the counter next to the male hostess). She whispered to him, and he told her that the order that he had been holding was mine, but it was not. My order was the one that the female worker brought over (further proof that he was intentionally holding my food). Though I was told that I would get 8-10 barbados wings, I only received 6, with chicken hair still on two, for $18. Nope. Service based upon tips, is a no-no too when no service was offered. Handing me the food that I paid for, when he feels like it, is not a service. It is employees like him who will stop people from being willing to leave a "voluntary" tip. Finally, the constant stream of ants at the dirty pub table drove me to a different spot. No excuse for food being left on the tables when there...
Read moreHarry's Poolside Bar & Grill inside the Rosen Centre on International Drive in Orlando, FL, provided a lovely start to an exciting evening for my boyfriend and I. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, with a beautiful bar area that immediately caught our attention.
The interior of Harry's blends modern and cozy elements seamlessly, featuring plenty of natural light and an elegant yet relaxed vibe. We were seated closer to the back of the room, which offered a bit of privacy, although being in the center of the room initially made me feel like all eyes were on me. That said, I appreciated the festive spirit of the evening as I received several compliments on my dress, which added a fun touch to the night.
For dinner, we both opted for sliders—he had the pork, and I chose the chicken. My sliders came with perfectly crispy French fries, paired with a flavorful aioli sauce that truly hit the spot. The staff was incredibly attentive and efficient, ensuring our drinks and meals arrived quickly, especially since we got in before the dinner rush. I enjoyed a perfectly crafted Old Fashioned from the bar, while he had a Dr. Pepper since he needed to stay sharp for his security shift at the ball.
Overall, Harry's provided a delightful and seamless dining experience. From the friendly service to the delicious food and drinks, it was the perfect choice for a pre-event dinner. Highly recommend for anyone staying at or visiting the...
