I wish I had good things to say about this particular restaurant, but I don't. This was my first experience ordering food from Uber Eats and it wasn't a good first impression at all. We were in the mood for Chinese food tonight, so I figured "What the Hell, let's take a chance on some place new?" It was a bad decision. I don't fault Uber Eats, they did exactly what they were supposed to do. The food was delivered on time and it was delivered hot. The problem was, it was the completely wrong food. We got items we didn't even order. We ordered one 'Happy Family" entrée for $16.95" and one "Prime Seafood Combo" entrée for $17.50". We also ordered Krab Rangoon for $6.95 and Steamed Dumplings for $7.95. There was nothing wrong with the appetizers, they were delivered fresh and hot. That's where the positive experience ends. The entrées were completely wrong. The "Happy Family" was supposed to include scallops, but there were no scallops to be found in the dish My entrée, the "Prime Seafood Combo" was never included in the order. It appeared as if they made two "Happy Family" entrées, both were still missing the aforementioned scallops. I immediately called the delivery person back to inform her of the incorrect order. The Uber Eats driver, Moesha, was very helpful. She suggested that I call Uber Eats customer service for a refund. I called Uber Eats customer service and they immediately refunded me my order total. Minus the driver gratuity of course, because it wasn't her fault the restaurant sent the wrong items. I will use Uber Eats again, but I will not order from "Taste of Asia" again. It was a bad first experience. As my Mother always said " You never get a second chance to make a first...
Read moreVery disappointed....I felt the same way like the other reviewer, if I could put no star, I would have done it.
We dine in for lunch but was looking at the paper menu. The server didn't inform us that the paper was "only for to go order" The food was alright but when the bill came out, it was hand written and didn't even specify how much each item, how much for soda, how much the subtotal, or even the tax break down. What showing was the total that we supposed to pay which also different if you calculate it from the price shown on the menu. When I ask how come the total is different, the server said oh that paper was to go menu. I was shocked to pay the total because wasn't expected to pay that much for lunch. I paid it anyway. But that's it, I felt that they robbed me. They never inform me that they have different pricing, or at least made me aware of the situation before ordering. I will never go back... If their goal is to robbed who ever walking in then they did a good job. If their goal is to have return customers, then it'll never happen from my part.
If anyone wants to dine in or order for a take out, make sure you always double check how much each item is.....there are so much bad review in this restaurant, I should've read it first before walking in. If I know I'm going to pay what I paid, I could've gone to a better restaurant with a better service...at least I know I will get what I paid for.
Be careful everyone....be prepare...
Read moreThe TASTE OF ASIA is a perfect restaurant for what it offers and how it's offered.
While in Orlando for a family vacation we enjoyed dinner 6 out of 8 nights from Taste Of Asia. Why? You may ask... Cleanliness, High quality, flavor and freshness of the food. Convenience, Value priced (even in a resort area), and courteous customer service.
We ate in the first visit and found it easier to pickup for all other purchases.
Our dine-in experience was pleasant. The dining area is open and conveniently shared with the pickup area. The area is simple but neat and the wait service was very attentive and courteous.
We particularly enjoyed: -Beef w/ Scallops -Mongolian Beef -A Combo Appetizer Platter -Chicken Fried Rice -A Combo Seafood dish (Jumbo Shrimp, Crab, Scallops, Breaded Tilapia & mixed vegetabkes)
The only things that could have been improved were to use a bit less salt in the Wonton soup and the surimi (crab) seemed to lack texture although the flavor was fine.
In summary, Taste of Asia is a very good Chinese food restaurant, not particularly fancy, but has a surprisingly complete menu with dishes prepared well. So if you've had a huge day at the attractions, or just looking for awesome Chinese takeout for home; Taste of Asia should deliver well to your expectations.
We're sure to visit again when next in the...
