Placed an order on 9/3 about 6:30pm for delivery. Very soon after the order was placed I received a call from a person who was very difficult to understand, as his English wasn't good and a thick accent. What I was able to gather was there is no driver for the night so no delivery. I said to please cancel the order, as I wasn't in a position I could pick it up in the next hour.
After about 10-15 minutes I decided I would like to do a re-order and set for pick up about 8:30pm. I called. Got the recorded greeting, and then a phone ringing sound. After about 10-12 rings, someone picked and immediately hung up. I called back, thinking maybe it was an error. Same thing. Pick up and hang up.
Just after 8pm I went down there. It seems things were just overall bad. Front doors propped open, all chairs were stacked in piles, and it was about 100* inside. Apparently no A/C. I approached the man at the counter. I am guessing it was the man who called me because he was very hard to understand. I told him I was there to re-order my online order. Communication was very very difficult, but eventually he understood. Through all of this I expressed my frustration at calling twice and being hung up on. Either he didn't understand, or pretended to not understand, or just chose to ignore responding. I tried 3x to get him to discuss it with me and he just "yeah, yeah'd" me.
The pizza was made. It was as delicious as the pizza always is. The entire debacle trying to order was less than appropriate. The inability to be able to clearly and concisely communicate is frustrating. This has nothing to do with where a person is from, and everything to do with having the right job for your skillset. If your difficult to communicate with, a front facing public position is not best suited for you.
This is the second time in a month I have visited this location with less than great service. In August there was a young girl working the counter that didn't seem to know how to manage everything.
I am getting the impression the management is lacking heavily here. Maybe a manager/owner that is just putting people there to work, but themselves absent often? The food industry is hard for staffing. But if Chik-Fil-A can have younger and more pleasant staff, then it is possible with the right leadership.
Likely will try a different Mountain Mike's next to compare experience.
After reading the replies to other low reviews, I have already submitted this same complaint on your website...
Read moreGo to any Mountain Mike's except the one in Draper. They continue to get worse and worse. Every other Mountain Mike's I have visited (Herriman, South Jordan and Hurricane) have all been phenomenal. Food is good. Service and communication is horrible.
I see a generic reply of "contact these people or fill out our contact form". Don't ask me to do that. Have tried with no response.
Placed an order on 9/30 for delivery on 10/1. I wrote specific instructions on the order where to deliver, and provided 2 names of people to give the order to. I specified also this order was a surprise, so they needed to make sure to follow the instructions provided. There are multiple buildings at that address, and while each is marked clearly people still get confused on occasion. (I am a business, and I was traveling the day of delivery. I was ordering the pizza for my staff as a surprise thank you for their work while I was out.)
The day of the delivery I got a text from one of my staffers thanking me for the order. She also went on to tell me about what happened at delivery. Rather than read and follow the instructions, the driver ended up standing in the middle of the driveway hollering. She couldn't understand what he was saying, but just heard hollering. When she approached him he didn't speak English and was not able to communicate with her. She read the receipt and then showed him the instructions. She said he replied something that she couldn't understand and shrugged his shoulders.
I have had 3 bad experiences with Draper Mountain Mikes in a series of 3-4 months. The people who work there are not able to effectively communicate with their customers. They have hung up when I call, without speaking. Just a pick up and hang up. Up to 4 times in a row when I continue to call. They have very long delivery times, which I can understand but when partnered with the continual issues it just seems like they cannot do their job. The language barrier simply shouldn't exist. If you are going to be working in the USA, especially if you are going to be working direct with the public, there needs to be enough language ability that instructions can be read and followed. At the bare minimum, if they cared, they could put the words into Google translate. But they simply do not care to do better. I have complained, contacted corporate, it...
Read moreSo im originally from florida and my expectations weren't excessively high. The reason is due to how the pizza industry has evolved over the years, but to say the least i was more than happy and greatly satisfied with the quality of food but the feeling of the overall design of the store.
I walked in and was greeted quickly and kindly by the manager there and she explained to me if id like to wait they had a small buffet area for pizza that were about to come out but i thanked her and said id just order a pizza instead. I got the Pikes Peaks pizza and i was very surprised and happy to see they had usual sized pizzas but also had a 20 inch pizza as well which i chose to get. The manager was kind and notified me since they do all the pizzas by order, so that meant my pizza would take 10 to 15 minutes before it was ready and out. I said thank you and sat down and waited.
To say the least the pizzas overall quality is downright better than any other pizza ive ever had. The pepperoni was the old fashioned cup ones so when cooked they have crispy little edges and a well rounded taste. The Pikes Peak comes with old school pepperoni, italian sausage, beef, salami, linguica (a Portuguese seasoned sausage) and ham slices. When it came out the pizza didnt look overloaded and had just the right amount of toppings to keep the pizza whole. The actual dough was perfectly balanced not too doughy or cake like but not too thin, perfect structural integrity and perfectly crispy.
The overall experience was down right amazing and i was highly pleased by the quality and interaction i had with a new and growing franchise. I hope for the future to become part of the franchise and open the first store in Florida bevause i believe the company would for sure be able to out compete pizza...
