I placed an order for two (2) scoops of Fancy Nancy at approximately 5:51 PM 9/6/22. The cashier, Layla, asked, “Can you just grab a “Quick Chick?” in which I responded, “No, I cannot” as I preferred fresh scoops of Fancy Nancy. Layla responded “okay” and proceeded with the transaction.
I then observed an employee from the back ask another employee to pass him two (2) Fancy Nancy Quick Chicks and observed him place them in my to-go container despite my request for them to be from the supply located in the back.
As Layla handed me my to-go order, I reiterated that I requested my order to not be Quick Chicks. Layla proceeded to raise her voice stating, “They aren’t Quick Chicks!” I explained to Layla I watched the employee dump a Quick Chick into a to-go container, my order. Layla then consulted with the employees in the back in which one employee, a female, proceeded to roll her eyes and make rude remarks towards me. She then yelled, “We don’t have no more Fancy Nancy!” in which I responded, “That’s okay, I just prefer a refund.”
Layla explained the situation to the assistant manager, who proceeded to slam the cash drawers as she counted the drawers and also made rude remarks towards me. I waited about five (5) minutes as no one ever addressed my concern nor communicated with my regarding my request for a refund. I waited until all customers’ orders were taken and approached the cashier, Layla, asking who would be addressing my concern/request. The assistant manager then raised her voice stating, “JUST GIVE ME A MINUTE!” as she stormed to the back for an extended period of time. Once she returned, in a condescending tone, she stated, “What’s the issue?” As I explained my concern and requested a refund she yelled, “You can’t do that! Quick Chicks are Quick Chicks and scoops are scoops!” This remark proved she had no idea what exactly was going on. Overwhelmed with feeling humiliated, I reiterated that I would just prefer a refund. The assistant manager offered to provide me with scoops of Fancy Nancy from the back, in which, was my initial request-hence, the employee in the back stated they did not have any in the back. Layla, the cashier, offered to dump the scoops back into the Quick Chick containers. When I declined and requested a refund, the assistant manager yelled, “I don’t see the issue, it’s basically the same thing!”
All in all, I spent almost 20 minutes after a long shift working in the hospital with no order, humiliation, and extremely poor customer service!
This experience was not consistent with the vision to “spread joy, enrich lives, and serve others.” In fact, it was the complete opposite. I am thoroughly disappointed and will no longer patronize Chicken Salad Chick.
I hope through my experience, the staff can obtain training on effective communication and customer service to prevent this...
Read moreI live in the neighborhood and decided to check out this new place after reading the positive reviews but left with disappointment. I stood in line for a few minutes before being assisted by Matthew who wasn’t particularly friendly. During the order taking process, he seemed distracted. I sat by the bench adjacent to the cashier’s counter to wait for my takeout. However, almost 15 minutes later upon noticing the other customers who ordered after me had already picked up their orders and left, I approached one of the employees to follow-up on my order. Shortly after, the kitchen staff spoke with Matthew who then used his index finger to call me over and I was like really? That was very rude of him, and I wasn’t pleased at all with his attitude!! He explained to me that he had entered the wrong order as a scoop instead of a chicken sandwich. I responded, “How is your incompetent my fault?” and he did not even bother to apologize. After I picked up order, Cassidy who was cleaning up the beverage counter noted what happened and offered a flower cookie for the delay, which was a nice gesture. While Cassidy is an asset, Matthew who has zero customer skills definitely does not deserve this job! I probably won’t return since there are a plethora of options within this...
Read moreI just went in here for an online order, I found the space where they have them and go to grab my order, just like any other place with online shelves. I was approached by an older lady who unkindly said “ma’am, ma’am you need to back out of here” and I do, and a guy (nicer) says he has to grab it for me and asks my name, and I said it, and she goes “you can’t just walk in here, you don’t do that” so I said they should have a sign that says that then because it’s customary at other places with online (jimmy johns, Einstein’s, etc) that you grab it yourself. She says, again, pretty rudely, “we do have one ma’am” and puts her hand on a sheet of paper (that’s folded in on itself on the sides because it’s not laminated so she literally has to widen her fingers to show the words on it). I just said they should get a bigger one and left, I found that incredibly rude for something that was a simple mistake, as this is also the only chicken salad chick I’ve been to that had a system like...
