Have been to this place so many times ever since this restaurant opened in 2020 and through the pandemic till now. The To-go lines are longer given any evening or night and they have a wonderful pick up service. The usual time for ToGo order to be ready is around 30-40 minutes but they get it ready before that.
Coming to my recent visit, it was in-fact much better and different compared to all my previous experiences which were good as well. It was in the middle of the week and wasn’t that much crowded for an evening. It gets crazily crowded during weekends especially during lunch that they might give you an wait time of 1 hour for Dosa to arrive. Better not to go during Weekends.
So this time we ordered a Veg Appetizer and a Main along side some breads. We usually go for a Paneer based or Samosas but this time we decided to go with Curry leaf Gobi (Mild spice). It was a bit spicy than expected but the best thing about this appetizer is that the crispness. It was amazingly crispy (usage of a lot of Corn starch I guess) ! Every bit was super crisp in-spite of the curry leaf paste in which it was cooked. We requested for mint chutney and that was too good with this. The quantity was enough for 2 and the pieces were quite big and well cooked as well. Thumbs up for this Appetizer. The Chilli varieties of appetizers are not that great and so wouldn’t recommend them.
Instead of going with Paneer Butter Masala or Paneer Makhani this time we went on to taste Karaikudi Paneer since I was craving for something with a Southern flavor. This recipe is essentially down South and the spice shouldn’t just be in the form of Red Chilli powder. To my surprise this gravy was so refreshing with some huge Paneer pieces but it had a little bit more of Cinnamon stick flavor. The gravy was greatly blended and felt like eating a proper Southern spice food. It was medium spiced and it didn’t disappoint us.
The Garlic Naan with butter was too good and soft. The Roti was bit crisp like a papad probably because of a different wheat flour import (not from India).
Based on Previous experiences, I wouldn’t recommend Dosa as it’s bland and totally dry all the time. It’s outright crispy and breaks and crumbles. Veg Uthappam was undercooked. So wouldn’t recommend them. I would recommend the Vegetable biryani varieties and they are great. Guttivankay Pulao is good. Beverages like Chikoo shake and Badam milk are amazing!
The ambience has always been good when it’s not crowded and gets too clumsy when it’s crowded. The service is relatively fast for such a huge demand and crowd and they don’t disappoint. The staffs are friendly and always open to help and some great service.
BOTTOMLINE: A very family friendly restaurant with some great ambience and equally good food for the money. Spice levels are always on the higher end for any dish so be careful while deciding onthe spice level.
MY PICKS FOR YOU: Curry leaf Gobi, Badam milk, Chikoo shake, Veg Sambar rice, Guttivankay Pulao, Garlic Naan, Paneer...
Read moreA girl took my appetizer order then never return as if she disappeared into thin air.. i had to literally flag down a guy walking by because i was ignored by everyone. When my chilli panier appetizer came, it was good, but a little too dry, unlike orher plaaces ive been. I had to flag down some other guy so i could ask for more sauce, he left and came back with (are you ready for this) a standard little tin foil packet of "Heinze Ketchup" I was totally astonished that somebody would be that stupid to bring over a tin foil package of heinz ketchup instead of the sauce that this restaurant is supposedly made for their delicious dish. When I confronted him, he said that they don't have any of that sauce and came back with some hot sauce that wasn't the same as what was in the dish. Which probably means that you are serving frozen food that comes in a box. So there's no way to get any more of the sauce.
No one ever checked on my table ONCE. Had to flag them down to get an order placed. They are not friendly at all. Have been sitting here for 30 minutes waiting for service to get my check. everyone looks at you and walks by. . no delicated waitress or waiter, pretty pathetic. Never asked one question. There is almost no service here.. The little service you get is horrible. It is my experience that a little take out.Indian restaurant or a place that serves only a buffet may operate in this way, but this is a restaurant that they put a lot of time and money into for its atmosphere. And if the manager/Owner is not smart enough to put good waiters and waitresses in there I do not think they will last very long .. I see some other reviews had the same...
Read moreThis feedback is for CATERING services. Although that food was very tasty at the restaurant and during our food tasting I would not use them ever again for a big catering event like weddings birthday parties baby showers etc. the service is absolutely horrible and their prices are just as competitive. Lack of communication in all aspects. We booked them in February for an event in September and it wasn’t until September we find out that they will not service clean etc. it’s definitely not a full services catering company which is fine as along as they would’ve told us well in advance. They have no internal communication with each other. The catering manager did not come to our site visit after confirming 3 times he would. He was not answering our questions via text or call and we were left stressed all throughout until the day of. Lack of professionalism and service makes this a 1 star experience. I would never recommend this catering to any family or friends. Ganesh was the manager and he is horrible to communicate with. Shrikanth is the owner and although he wanted this to be a smooth process he got involved too last minute to make it anything but smooth. Horrible horrible horrible experience. We wanted to try something new for our wedding event and given that the food just tastes so flavorful we thought it would be even better at our event but the coconut rice was spoiled And our guests had already started eating it. It was the guest who came and told Me that it was spoiled. So I wonder how early they made it for it to go bad. Do not trust them for your big events. Enjoy them for your weekend dinners...
