First, let me point out that at a restaurant named “Tequilas” you should expect that they would have an extensive tequila selection… they do not even have a tequila list, so that started off as a bit of a disappointment for the ones in our party that wanted a unique tequila experience.
Our waiter started out very nice when he greeted us, but in taking our drink order, he only got to half of the table, then the girl brought chips and salsa and set them on our table and our waiter just walked away. He did not come back for several minutes with the waters and we had to ask to finish our drink order. He was very curt and barely let us finish before walking away. He acted as if we personally offended him, it was absolutely bizarre.
The food was good, but not “the best Mexican food I’ve had” like other reviews say. The flank steak fafjitas were cooked really well, the chicken was done well, the tacos were nothing too special.
Now for the vegetable fajitas, which were disgusting…. They had CELERY in them!!! Uncooked, crunchy celery and carrots. It was almost as if they ran out of good veggies to use and threw in whatever they had close by, because the dish was awful.
We were really looking forward to a dinner out with just the parents during our family vacation, but this place was such a disappointment.
Reading through other reviews, it seems as if this place is very inconsistent… we did not get cabbage with our chips and salsa, other fajitas had a sauce on them, ours...
Read moreWow, some of the worst service I have ever received at a restaurant in Durango, Colorado. The restaurant states it closes at 9pm I walked in at 8:10PM on Monday November 29th. A waiter (late 40’s is straight up counting his tips at the bar (check your security footage) and the bartender is just standing there talking with the waiter as he’s counting. They both just look at me without saying anything. I ask if they’re still open (just to be polite, I know they close at 9pm). The waiter rolls his eyes and “looks at the clock” and says, “I guess”. I knew at that point I was not welcomed and if I stayed there was going to be major problems with my meal. I told the guy I’ll go find somewhere else and I’m pretty sure him and the bartender cussed at me as I walked out the door.
I thought this location was supposed to be the “good one “ compared to the Pagosa Springs location, definitely not the case. This is supposed to be a family run restaurant with good service and great food not waiters who count their cash tips at the bar well before closing and chase away customers. This was such a bad experience that I’m writing this review from my car just outside the restaurant. I hope that waiter and bartender are not part of this family business that used to be a good place to go. I urge the owners of this establishment to look at the security footage so you can see what happened to me at...
Read moreRude staff, and half of them, who serve and bus your tables either do not comfortably speak English or speak English at all. I had a great lunch here one time, with a female serve who spoke decent English, but tonight's dinner had terrible service. I was ignored multiple times, and had to get up about three times to get translations, my salsa, help with their broken wifi, one of my servers didn't even know the password correctly, and then it didn't even work but for a few seconds at a time, then I lost my card! Their receipt books are so old, that when I got up to go find my server or the manager for the third time, it quietly slipped out of the book's pocket when I was carrying it. I had to transfer funds, frizzel in my emotions for a little bit, and finally I found it anyway under my table on the opposite side. It really took a decent slide. And their terrible spotty wifi was not making this easier while I was transferring funds before I found my card. Staff never offered to help me even look, because obviously they are lazy, and by that point knew they weren't getting a tip anyway. It was a real compartmentalized and selfish way to treat me as not just as a customer, but...
