Disappointing Poke Bowl Experience

I recently ordered a poke bowl from this spot, and honestly, it left me feeling ripped off. For $17 (plus extra for avocado), I expected a hearty, fresh bowl packed with quality ingredients, but what I got was basically a rice bowl with a skimpy amount of poke hidden at the bottom. I had to dig around just to find the tuna—there were maybe 10 small pieces in total, which they claimed was "2 scoops." If that's the case, those scoops must be the size of a teaspoon because it felt like an afterthought compared to the massive pile of rice dominating the bowl.

The add-ons were even more frustrating. I paid extra for avocado, and all I got were two sad chunks—not even diced or sliced properly. It barely added any value or flavor. The overall portion felt stingy for the price, especially when poke is supposed to be about the fresh fish and veggies, not filler.

If you're craving poke, I'd suggest looking elsewhere unless they step up their game on portions and quality. Overpriced and...

I had the opportunity to stop by for lunch to scope out this new location, and they did not disappoint. I chose to go with the burrito style over a bowl, and it was delicious! I went for a build-your-own, spicy-savory combination that was perfect. I also got to try out my first ever Spam Musubi and was impressed. That blue rice is something else. The staff was friendly and easy-going, and I also had a moment to talk to the owner, Dan, about the new location and had a glimpse of the future of the Poké restaurant and what’s to come. I first tried this place out a few weeks back, and didn't have the best experience due to some mistakes by a new employee. Things just were not of the expectation I had based on other reviews. However, the owner reached out immediately to make things right and was so sincere in his apology, that I knew I would be giving them another try. I went again today and it was everything the other reviews promised. It was so delicious and fresh!
