I waited to write this review hoping that my first bad experience was just an isolated incident. However, I see not that this place is really terrible.
Owner/Manager: "Wake up and read this !"
During our second visit to this place my wife and I waited 40 minutes in line of about 10 people before we got our food. The employees were in no hurry to get the line moving. This is unacceptable especially for a fast food joint. So we noticed that the place was pushing their App presumably to give customers an option of getting their food faster. So the next time, we used the App and received the food as expected. Then tonight we used the App again. The place was not busy. But when got there to pick up our food, one employee at the App counter looked down at her cell phone and pretended to be working on the App orders. It was obvious that she was not when another employee came over after about 5 minutes and asked us what we needed. He looked dumbfounded, when I told him that I was picking up my App order. He ran around for couple of minutes and came back to apologize obviously because no one had taken care of our order. It took him another 10 minutes to fill our order.
Here is another major problem with this place. Employees are required to wear GLOVES to protect the customers' health. They wear gloves so as not to contaminate the food that they are handling with their hands. The guy who filled our tacos and salad with his gloved hands had already handled the cash register with the same gloved hands. Another female employee was also handling food and the cash register without changing gloves. This is NOT acceptable. These employees need to be monitored to make sure that they are not cross contaminating the food with the cash register and who knows what else.
It ruined our appetite, and we had terrible dinner.

My husband and I ordered through doordash tonight and the order was wrong in so many ways. You would think for the fact that they would have a printed order, they could follow it.
What was wrong - We both requested limes and got none. (See receipt) We both ordered Sweet pork barbacoa as our meat. My husband got sweet pork, I however, got chicken that wasn't even shredded. I requested the fan favorite of a sweet barbacoa salad, which comes normally with large torn lettuce pieces. However, what I got was the most unappetizing shredded lettuce that has made the salad really unedible. I guess if you had a problem such as you were out of sweet pork barbacoa, you could have called me since my phone number was on the order. The guacamole in the store is the most unappetizing guacamole you'll ever come across. It seems, that they leave it out until literally it is one second before the health inspectors would deem it unedible before they change it out. 90% of the time when it's offered to us in the store, it is already brown or gray in the little tray. This tells me that the owner is all about the money he or she is making, and nothing about the customers that come in.
It used to be that Cafe Rio required all manager to have a culinary degree. I guess nowadays, if they have somebody who can't read or make a phone call it's okay with ownership.

Read moreI really wish I didn't have to write this review. My wife pre-ordered our Cinco de Mayo meal at 8 am. We scheduled curbside pick-up for 7:30 PM. We arrived a few minutes early to find a parking lot overflowing with people waiting for orders. After waiting in a parking spot for 30 minutes, I was finally able to track down a employee. Mind you... They only had 1 runner bringing our orders with 50+ people waiting.
I asked her how I could get our order that was scheduled 30 mins prior. She informed me that they were very behind and that they were just going around and asking people if their name was "x". Bless that girl who was having the deal with everyone.
Understanding the current situation with Covid I was willing to wait. I waited, 1, 2, 2.5 hours. Finally at 9:30 we all were informed that they were still working on orders from 6:40 PM. They blamed corporates ordering system, saying they had to complete orders in the order in which they were received. Mind you most people had gone home by now. But they kept making orders that wouldn't be claimed and just threw them away in front of us.
Finally I was able to cancel my order because they couldn't gurantee that would be done within an hour...
We all were patient and understanding. But this is unexcusable. I didnt even get my refund as promised ... Not any other type of gesture. I'm very surprised others have not left the same type of review.
Unless this is remedied I will take all my business to Costa Vida and ensure others do. Thanks for taking the time...
