Edit 3.21.25 - 6 years after my initial review, things got worse! Within the last year I started going back to this McDonald's. The first couple of times my order was prompt and correct. After that, every single visit, save for 1 or 2, had an issue of some sort. Most of the time my order was wrong. If it was actually correct, it would take them almost 15 minutes to make it. And to make things worse, no one apologized or offered to include an apple pie or anything else to make up for it. Which is fine. That's on me for continuing to go back there. But today was the nail in the coffin. I ordered in the app as usual, give the code at drive-thru, pull around and asked to park since my order isn't ready. Ok, I wait, and wait, for 10 min. Finally an employee comes out and hands me a bag. She says thank you, and before she completely turns around, I told her this isn't my order. She takes it back inside, and I wait another 5 min. A different employee brings out that same bag and hands it to me. Again, not my order. She takes it back inside and I wait another 5 min. First girl comes back out and asks me what I ordered. I tell her, wait another 5 min and finally had to go inside, where I waited another 5 min before being acknowledged by the manager who tells me she is working on it, sorry! Wait, why do you have an attitude with me? 25 min to get my order, plus attitude from the manager and no apology, or refund or anything to make up for my entire lunch break wasted? Lesson learned, again! What a joke of a business, of a manager and of customer service in general. If you have a choice go to a different McDonald's or another place all together. I truly hope this deters people from going here. I love McDonald's, and will continue to spend my money at any of them. BUT I WILL NO LONGER VISIT the location on 17th and Sheridan in Edgewater, CO. Oh, and regarding the remodel they did 6 years ago, you can't really tell...1 kiosk has a shattered screen and has plastic film wrapped around it, both entrances smell like urine, and the place is littered with trash inside, as well as outside in the parking lot.
This location was recently remodeld and it looks absolutely amazing! But being good looking will only get you so far...service here is still sub-par at best. This seems to be a busy location and the staff gives the impression that they are not capable of handling that fast pace...employees seem frazzled, unorganized and unmotivated to kick it into another gear to get things done. I waited 10 min after putting in my own order of 2 hand crafted sandwiches at the kiosk, only to be told they were out of the crispy chicken that I ordered. Waited another 6 min before asking the cashier the please bag my 2 sandwiches that were now just sitting in the window. Then I had to ask for my drink cup. 20 min is an excessive about of time to wait at a"fast food" place for an order. I should've been able to order, eat and be out the door in 20 min or less. That hasn't been even close to a reality at this location for what seems like years. This was most likely the last time I'll visit this location, even though it is the closest one. I'll drive 15 min to another location and will still be finished sooner...
Read moreThere I am in sheer reverie as I pull up to the drive-through. I'm instantly overwhelmed by the illumination saturating the #9. Two, soft, flaky, untainted buns, the patty ever so slightly visible, and the way the cheese rolls over the edges like a flat earth... and then, what's this?, a medium fry flaunting in the background, starved for attention next to that lean tower of sweet, tooth decaying, high fructose heaven and all for only $5.99! I instantly start into a cold sweat. I forget my middle name and if I closed the garage before I left and then remember... I don't have a garage. A voice begins to coo at me through a dark hole as I put my automatic window down manually. They are asking me what it is I want. It is evident that I want the #9, but in right field, I spot that cheeky McChikity for only $1. Without further ado, I bypass my thoughts around how this will all sit around midnight, and impulsively order hastily off the dollar menu. As I round the bend, I'm overcome with suspense at how much of a deep value all this will be. Sure enough, it all prices just under a Hamilton. Just like that, I'm in the parking lot as I can't wait until I get home. Like a pig in slop, I Edward burger hands and charge at cheeseburger #1 and wash down with cheeseburger #2, but then that McChicken starts to show off... greasing all over my dashboard and I just can't neglect. I gently place burger #1 atop a napkin on my lap (as seen in "eating in the car 101"). My sausage hand palms the canary yellow, greasing square, and I tear the film away like rip away And One's from late 90s Kohl's (next to the jnco jeans) and begin to binge. Mayo instantly sharts out the back onto the only spot where a napkin isn't. I instantly feel like I deserve "YOLO" tattooed on my tongue. And just like that, I'm a bloated beach whale sitting in my car, surrounded by the remnants of a good time. Then... my wife asks me if she can get something too. Entry #1: slow down...
Read moreThe girl at the drive thru asking everyone “are you ready?” Needs to be taught “welcome to McDonald’s May I take your order?” Or some other version of that, Is the appropriate way to talk to customers and that “go to the window” after the order is placed should be replaced with “I have (repeats order) for (gives cost) please pull to the window” as for the food… Fries were kinda sorta warm but not really. Anyway back to customer service I’ve noticed the people at this McDonald’s don’t really behave like they’re at work and just kinda wing it with terrible customer service. One of my first jobs was fast food. I was there for 2 years and none of our staff would have dared ask a customer “are you ready?” And we also would thank them for patronizing our restaurant because that is what you do to promote customer retention. I rarely come to this McDonalds because the customer service is so atrocious but it was 12:30 & it was a last resort. This review has been coming for years as I’ve despised the customer service here since I used to stop by on my way to work in 2017. I used to show up every morning for breakfast or coffee and after feeling like the workers were being “bothered” I quit stopping by and started going somewhere else. The customer service was horrible then too but a tad better than “are you ready?” “Go to the window” this place needs a new owner that trains their staff to have have customer service skills and treat the customers with common decency. This place is a zero stars do...
