Five Guys — Restaurant in El Cajon

Sorry to report it looks like this place is in disarray and has not recovered from pandemic . First of all I have been to this location many times so I do know what to compare it to.

From the very beginning something wasn't right. The young lady taking my order looked to be distracted and kind of confused . I also noticed the workers including cook looked super young , like high school kids . Other times I have been there there is a mix of workers . You could always tell who was in charge.

So this is the way it was started , ordered two burgers and fries along with two beef patties for my dogos. $35. Wife wanted jalapenos on her burger but they were all out. Ok . Next received my order and the fries were seasoned but I had ordered regular. They were out of napkins and no ketchup . The main cook got a little plastic cup and put about 5 squeezes of the ketchup used in kitchen . Went back for more and cook got annoyed but grudgingly gave me 5 more pumps. .

The fries replacement from seasoned to regular was old and cold .Wifes burger was pathetic. Its was missing about 1/3 of the meat and and ended up with alot of leftover bread with no meat. My burger was good and what I expected.

So I would say this . 5 guys I am willing to pay $30 for two burgers and fries but I don't expect to get nickel and dimed with ketchup. I expect napkins and fresh fries. Also expect to have enough meat and not have 1/3 bread leftover on small cheeseburger.

Will not be going back to this location...

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER, I would never go back to that place ever again!!!!! I ordered hamburger sandwiches for my brother’s birthday, and when we picked up the food they didn’t give us the whole order!! So when we want to the party we had only half of the order. I called the store and I spoke with the manager there he really made me so mad and he was talking to me very rudely! I asked him to deliver the rest of my order because first I’m not close to the place and second the birthday party already started, the manager Mani stated he doesn’t have a delivery option and I only can pick up the rest of my order even though it wasn’t my fault and it was there fault! My wife called them back and he offered her a refund or an extra French fries which we weren’t interested in! After all of the back and forth, I went back to the restaurant for the refund, the manager didn’t give me any options to make up there mistake, he said I only can refund the price for the 2 sandwiches or give you extra fries with the 2 sandwiches! I spent more that $30 worth of gas just to get refund for 2 sandwiches!!!!! He should’ve handled it better than that! NEVER AGAIN! BTW I still owe the...

First time at Five Guys. Came here because we watch a youtube show that loves it. We were very excited to try the food. We got a bacon cheese burger, cheese hot dog, fries and a coke. It seemed a little odd that you couldn't combo your meal and had to buy everything seperate. That being said, it is alot of $$$. Just about $6.00 for the dog alone. The dog looked like it was on a normal grocery store bun. Nothing special. The actual dog was split and grilled which tasted great. The cheese was a basic single slice plopped on. The burger was good. It though was also over $9 for the burger and we didn't feel it was worth $9. We love our local joints in escondido like Farmer Boys where you get a large burger, soda and choice of fries, onion rings or zucchini sticks for $12.00. Total value there. Going back to Five Guys. Thier fries are amazing. We ate them all. And the regular portion is very generous to say the least. I am not sure if this will be a normal spot for us to eat at. If you have alot of $$$ to spend on a burger head on in. If not, find a mom and pop restaurant or a local spot...
