Janna’s Burgers, Fish and Fries — Restaurant in El Cajon

I have always been a fan of Janna's, since my first introduction at BBF Burger Fish and Fries at Grossmont Center. Now known as Janna's Burgers Fish and Fries, she has opened her second location at Parkway Plaza of El Cajon.

She is just getting underway and is already putting smiles on peoples faces. You see, she has this special called "Janna's Famous Combo" which comes with a classic cheese burger with all the fixings, crinkle fries, a large piece of fried fish, and fountain drink for $17.99.

The burgers are made with hand made Angus beef patties. The are quiet wholesome and delicious. The cheese burger on default comes with fresh lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, house made pickles, and Janna's secret tasty sauce. It was a good tasty burger.

The fried fish was excellent. It had a great crispy exterior and a succulent and tender white fish inside. It was great eating with a touch of lemon and with Janna's homemade tartar sauce. Great fish. Consider also getting the fish in a basket with multiple pieces or in a sandwich.

The crinkle fries were great. They crispy and tender and nicely seasoned with Janna's special seasoning.

I was so stoked to see Janna's Burgers, Fish and Fries was opening a spot in Parkway Plaza after hearing the rave reviews from their Grossmont location, and now that they have, I finally confirmed every good thing I heard is true. My wife and I both got the seafood basket, and everything was phenomenal. The shrimp and fish were both great, the seasoned batter was so good and crispy I almost didn't bother dipping it in anything. But I'm glad I did, because whether using lemon, tartar sauce, or cocktail sauce, it worked beautifully with all of them. The crinkle-cut fries also have their own great seasoning, everything across the board was really flavorful.

The service was outstanding too, Ashley Mae is a warm and cheerful presence that made the whole experience even more special. I walked away happy and completely stuffed, but I won't be gone for long. I'll be back...

Honestly, really disappointed. The only reason I’m even giving 2 stars is because the guy at the front was genuinely nice and friendly. The food was awful, everything was drenched in oil, and after just a few bites, we got stomach aches. It seriously felt like they haven’t changed the oil in forever. We ordered a burger with fries, onion rings, and some veggies. We even paid extra for cheese and extra fries, but when we got home, we realized they didn’t even give us everything we paid for. The place wasn’t even busy, so there’s no excuse for such a sloppy job. Really sad because we were looking forward to it. Definitely won’t be...
