Employees are disinterested and couldn’t offer a greeting. When asked “how are you?” the employee at the register responded with a grunt and stare. Another employee rolled their eyes at me as they handed me my food, seemingly because I was standing closer to my seat when it was originally ready. I walked up and identified that it matched my receipt, and wasn’t offered a single word of greeting or acknowledgement, just an eye roll?
They were ‘out of chips’ though there was an oversized bag of chips present just over the employee’s shoulder on a completely visible shelf in the front of the restaurant as my order was taken.
The street tacos (normal size, not large) are overpriced at $7 each.
The meat within and the overall tacos were cold. The tortillas for the tacos were soaked in oil and were soft and falling apart.
The churro was barely warm though just removed from the fryer. Undercooked throughout, only covered by a thin fried layer on the outside. I’m led to believe the oil in the fryer was not hot enough for either the tortillas or the churros to properly be heated/cooked.
Some of the worst Mexican/latino food I’ve ever tasted. Acquiring 100 Taco Bell Diablo hot sauce packets and squirting them into each of your orifices simultaneously would be be a better use of your resources and tastebuds than eating here and giving this place $145+ for a family of four.
The owner of this airport taqueria would do well to relieve the entire staff - it was obvious they had zero pride in both customer service and food preparation.
OR if these are in fact the best employees that New Jersey can offer, it might be more optimal to promote them all and convert the restaurant into a...
Read moreThe service at this place was terrible. When we arrived, we were greeted by a woman who said, “ready to order”, which is fine really. She walked over to the restaurant next door and hung out with her friends while we sat there trying to get her attention. A cook came out and we asked him to get her attention, which he did happily. She started coming over to us but stopped a few times for a few laughs with her friends before coming over.
We placed our order but it was very difficult to understand what she was saying. She was looking the other direction while we spoke with her and finally it was over. While we sat there, a line formed, and a few others placed their orders. One man ordered and after paying, he told her she made a mistake by ordering 1 too many items. She was extremely unclear when communicating with him about it and finally said, “no manager, maybe 15 minutes for refund”.. He said it was fine and walked away. Absolutely he was not fine but he knew how difficult she was making everything and we are all here trying to get on our way.
While I’m writing this review, another woman ordered something and asked how much it was. The employee said 88. It was definitely not $88 because she ordered a drink and one food item. This woman should not be working the register and a manager should be around making sure there is some level of service level...
Read moreI ordered the Brisket taco, the pulled pork taco and the sweet plantain QuesoTaco. I also had the Dulce de leche churros.
I like this place. It adds a nice vibe to the airport. The pulled pork taco was delicious. Not too juicy and the avocado sauce was delicious on all tacos that I ate. The sweet plantain taco was good. It’s cut into 2 thick pieces so I had to wrap the tortilla around the plantain like a hot dog which was weird. It would be a better bite if it had slightly smaller pieces of the plantain. The flavors were all there though. Now for the Brisket taco, the one I was looking forward to. This is the driest Brisket taco I have ever had. The pieces were chunky but not soft, it was hard and dry which threw me off. I took one bite and had to spit it out, it was gross. The aftertaste in it was more chemical than BBQ.
The Dulce De Leche churros were good but the outside coating didn’t let me finish the other one. The cinnamon sugar coating is heavier on the cinnamon than sugar and it gave an unpleasant bitter aftertaste.
I highly recommend the...
