Kitchen STEP — Restaurant in Elizabeth

I recently dined at your restaurant while waiting to board my flight to Panama. While I appreciated the pleasant service and enjoyed the cinnamon toast, I was disappointed by the limited food options available for those with dietary restrictions.

As someone who doesn’t eat pork or beef, I was surprised that there were no alternative protein options such as turkey bacon, chicken sausage, or plant-based substitutes on the brunch menu. When I inquired, the waitress simply mentioned that substitutions aren’t accommodated if they’re not listed on the menu, which made it difficult to find a suitable meal.

I hope you’ll consider expanding your menu or offering more inclusive substitutions in the future. It would greatly enhance the experience for guests with specific dietary...

To be fair, I don’t think I’ve ever had like actual good food at an airport restaurant… but i digress. We each ordered a chicken sandwich with a side salad and iced teas. Chicken was dry, and there was visible fat on the chicken. The sandwich lacked flavor, and the salad was a few almost dead and discolored leaves. Service was the worst part, checked on us once but once it was time to pay the bill they were nowhere to be found and it’s an airport so obviously there’s places people gotta be… like why are you gossiping with your coworkers for 20 mins while we sit here trying to get your attention? Besides that, never refilled our drinks or asked if we wanted to order anything else. I’d skip this and just go to a chain, at least then you know what...

It's a nice restaurant inside the Airport.

ATMOSPHERE: Contemporary with Garden/Nature touches. That was my favorite part of this place. You can spend time there comfortably - comfy seating booth-type seating mixed with chairs. There is also a bar if you just want a drink.

SERVICE: it was OK. Not bad, but not great. The place wasn't busy, so it could have been better.

DRINK. Strong margarita, but at $17 it wasn't amazing and 3/4 of ice in glass.

FOOD. CRISPY EGGPLANT CUTLET - $26. It was just OK. Semi-crispy and very small for this price. Gigantic amount of French fries which I wouldn't even want - would prefer Salad / lighter...
