The bagel stand was right next to my gate so I decided to get a bagel for the plane. I was in the last boarding group. Boarding began at 3:10. It took a good ten minutes before anyone even came to ask our order so now it was getting tight. I asked the checkout girl how many minutes a bagel would take and she said just a few so I decided to order. After another ten minutes I was starting to get nervous especially when I realized they hadn’t even started making my bagel. Finally a different guy showed up to make my bagel but at that point it was too late they were already announcing final boarding and calling my name. I told him to give me whatever he had completed and the following is what I got. Just lettuce and tomato on a plain bagel. If it were $5 I would just take my loss but it was about $15. I hope management reaches out because I am expecting a refund. I never leave bad reviews but I nearly missed my plane over this.

Derived from Eat” in Yiddish is “Esn" (in German, it’s “Essen”), so it essentially means “Eat a bagel.” This establishment was my pick for breakfast as first timers to new Terminal A at Newark Liberty. Upon arrival by gate A15, patrons around here seem to agree, as evidenced by the steady line that stretched out to the walkway. But the line moved fast, and while one’s waiting, you can figure out your order. I’ve decided on the morning classic with egg, sausage patty, and Swiss cheese on a toasted wheat bagel with iced latte. The bagel was super-soft, but the top actually featured some crispness. I couldn’t get over how large this was, as it was tasty, and the drink hit the spot. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The price is comparable to the area. I can recommend this place.

Worst bagel and experience we’ve ever had. We order two bagels: The breakfast and the lox with extra charge on scallion cream cheese both on a everything bagel. We waited for 3 quarters at 6:45 AM?!? Then being told the microwave broke down. They handed us quickly two bagels with cream cheese and avocado. Running to our gate we opened up the bag in the airplane. Normal plane bagel, normal cream cheese and 1 tiny slice of avocado. Bagel was so hard and def. Not fresh at all. Plus that we didn’t get our money back from the order we did.

Was excited to see a NYC classic in the updated terminal A at EWR when we are all used to overpriced, flavorless airport food. However, the experience was pretty bad. Despite prices being high and the toaster being broken, the real issue was the slow pace at which the staff prepared the bagels, looking like they were in slow motion and taking 15+ minutes to make my simple order. Look - I am all for us all getting a bit more patient in the world of fast-casual, but this is an airport establishment where folks need to be on time and move quickly to make flights. Sure, my bagel tasted fine, but would advise the staff put a little pep...
