Playa Bowls — Restaurant in Elizabeth

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First off, I made it my mission to stop at this place to try their oatmeal because I heard it was good . My first question when I got there was “is the oatmeal hot or do you serve it cold ?” The cashier insisted it was hot. Then I asked which is the best oatmeal to try. She said the strawberry banana and Nutella one. I told her I’m not a fan of Nutella - she can leave that out. She said it adds flavor - and it will need it . I said if it’s a light drizzle than that will be okay. She insisted that it was a light drizzle. When I received my order the Nutella was OVERWHELMING and full of clumps. And ON TOP OF THAT THE OATMEAL WAS COLD. I didn’t enjoy it at all. I was disgusted. I proceeded to ask the cashier can I switch to another flavor or get my money back because what I had was nasty . Her and the guy at the counter told me no they can’t do that because the cameras will see them . They aren’t allowed to exchange or refund. Like what? I was disgusted and just threw it out . Will...

WORST PLAYA BOWLS EXPERIENCE!! ZERO STARS! Playa bowls you need to do something about this franchise they are giving you a bad name! If this was my only experience I would not visit another location. This is not just my experience and the people who’ve left a bad review, there will be many more people who had a terrible experience who didn’t leave a review. The staff were rude and lazy! The açai was melted, there was no fruit available (said it had to be cut) my visit was at 10am on Thursday) the granola was sparse and not double layered unlike every other branch I’ve been to in NYC and Florida. I overheard the staff whilst they were busy talking to each other saying that they get paid per hour not by the bowl. The service was shockingly bad. Clearly by the comments made, the staff just don’t care and that reflects on the dirty state...

Sad. This was probably the worst customer service I ever received. 4 ladies working. Not one smile or courteous comment from any of them. They acted like all of their customers were disturbing their day. I asked about a substitution and instead of a polite response, I received a monotone “we don’t do substitutions.” Ok. I agreed to pay the additional cost to leave one ingredient out and add one in its place. The replacement ingredient was blueberries. I literally got TWO blueberries and one of them was shriveled. I would have gone back to have it addressed but we had to get to our plane. $16.69 and it wasn’t even right.

As I waited to receive my order, I watched and not one smile or “you’re welcome” was given to another customer. Pitiful. It isn’t hard to be polite. I will not be returning to Playa Bowls...
