This was my third time going to their restaurant. The first two times, the food was served in a very timely fashion, with decent service. Last night I had gone with my partner for dinner. I will say I’m not too fond of having to go up to a counter, and order my food to be then asked to pay, along with a tip request.
Anyhow, the lady who took our order was nice. We got our food once again in a timely fashion, but after we were given our food, we were never asked how it was or if we needed anything. We we just handed out food, and were asked if we had wanted salsa.
We had gotten a burrito and a torta. I was irritated to begin with because it felt like the tortillas had been just barley heated up, along with I’m not quite sure if the meat was even properly to temp because the burrito was just warm. Not even hot. If they were busy I might brushed it off, but with the layout of the place you can tell.
We finished our meal. The burrito and torta were fine with good amounts, and good flavors. Nothing special though. But I just thought to myself while eating, how can somebody be expected to tip before they’re even really provided any service, also what if I wanted to tip with cash after. Why should a tip motivate you to take care of your customers and make sure they’re enjoying the food and everything’s okay. And like I said earlier, if it was busy, somewhat acceptable. But if you’re going to be talking chisme with your coworkers, check on the ones who you’re serving. (I will add, I did not tip with the card machines I had cash to leave a tip. In my opinion, there’s not much difference between this place and a m Donald’s if you’re...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I, last night on cinco de mayo, came here to try something new from our normal Mexican restaurant, La Santa, and we were disappointed. We sat down at 6:18 and none of the staff even looked in our direction until 6:25-ish when I went up to get us menus. We then ordered two chimichangas and chips and salsa (the chips and salsa were $6, remember this for later). It took the staff over an hour to bring out our chimichangas and we were never given our chips and salsa. We finished eating and went up to pay and the lady joked about never getting our chips and salsa, and at that point I wanted my chips and salsa, so I asked her to get me it and she pulled some out of a tub and put them in a brown paper bag to go. They were cold tortilla chips, like you would get from the store. The most frustrating part is that the chips were in a tub sitting out, so they could have brought us them at any point in time, but we waited over an hour for them. The waiters came three different times to ask us if we ordered chips and salsa, and yet, we never got it, and continuously watched other people, who were seated an hour after us, get their chips and salsa before us. Not very happy with the chimichangas either, they were served, lukewarm and were bland. We will not be coming back, our favorite Mexican restaurant is La Santa, and is so much better. La Santa has free chips and salsa on your table in less than 5 minutes from arriving at the restaurant, and food out to you within 20 minutes. Thank you for reading through this review, if you have a choice go...
Read moreAbsolutely delicious food and a great experience right here. This restaurant can be a little hard to find since the entrance is in the back of a building, but once you find your way here you're in for a treat! Stepping in, the interior is lively and spacious, with part of the kitchen open to the dining room, so you get to see the cooks making your food.
I ordered the chicken chipotle burrito and was thoroughly impressed. The chicken was blended with a homemade chipotle spice, not just that creamy canned stuff you sometimes get at other Mexican restaurants. The burrito was also stuffed heartily with beans and, don't knock it til you try it- zucchini. The zucchini added a wonderful freshness and unique flavor that paired really well with and enhanced the chipotle seasoning! Needless to say, I was very pleased.
My friend ordered the carne asada, and he said he was very pleased with it as well. I can't speak for him, but he finished his plate. We also had Mexican hot chocolates! They were absolutely delicious, well-rounded drinks. Would highly recommend.
Our service was absolutely stellar, with our food coming fast and our waitress very attentive. Even though this is a restaurant where you order and pay at the counter, she continually checked on us to make sure we were doing alright and to clear our plates.
Ellensburg has a lot of good Mexican food, and I would count this restaurant among the...
