BLENDED — Restaurant in Eugene

I am big on desserts, and this place has the best macarons in Eugene. I've only been to two places that make them in Eugene because not a lot of places make them. However, I have eaten macarons in many larger cities across the countries because I seek them out in bakeries, and I think their macarons would hold their own, even in bigger cities. The macarons are what they're supposed to be in terms of texture and consistency, and they rotate flavor on a regular basis too. When you buy them, let them sit around for 15-30 minutes before you bite into them. They're better at room temp (assuming it's not winter time) because it softens the cookie and improves the contrast between the crisp crust and soft, slightly chewy inside of the cookie.

They sell smoothies and some protein desserts too. I have a commercial blender at home, and I think protein desserts are an abomination. Just eat a regular brownie and drink a protein shake instead of trying to make healthy brownies. To parody Hank Hill, "You're not making healthy eating better, just making desserts worse." With that being said, I didn't try them so I'm just going to say that macarons are not easy to make. If they put the same care into their other stuff as the macarons, I'm sure...

Honestly, they hit it out of the park!! I don't know the last time I ate something and reactively said, "Oh my god, that's so good!" But Black Diamond did it! I had the fruit crepe and Turkish coffee. The crepe had beautiful fresh fruit on it - kiwi, mango, blueberry, and strawberry. Most full service restaurants dont have crepes with that much beautiful variety of fruit! It was then topped with pistachio and almond. The person working (owner i think?) very kindly asked if I could eat pistachio and almond before adding it which is incredibly thoughtful and conscientious of people with allergies, so I truly appreciate that. The Turkish coffee was sweet and beautifully prepared. To top it all off, my order was so affordable! Only ~$7 for the whole thing!! If you're trying to have an amazing breakfast for an affordable cost, Black Diamond is 100% the place to go. I am so happy with what I got, and I am already planning...

I was not impressed one bit! The workers were not being sanitary at all They hardly wore gloves, and when they do, they DO NOT change them in between taking transactions and making food. I wasn't trying to be rude, so I didn't ask for a refund, but I didn't even eat my food cause I was so grossed out. I'm kind of surprised they haven't been fined!

It took 20 mins to receive a fruit salad. Super slow service!

The Dubai chocolate was nasty!! Nothing like it should be. Don't even waste your time or money at this place.

I would also like to mention that the hours online and posted on their door are hardly correct. I came by 3 times before they were actually open.
