đŸ€©AN ABSOLUTE GEM OF A RESTAURANT🙏 To be honest, at first we did not know this was a hotel restaurant, but we are glad that they accept non-hotel guests. Also we hit happy hour at 10pm right on time! The decor in the restaurant is very modern and upscale. With modernist crystal chandeliers and a dark toned furniture; appealing to many cohorts of customers. We walked in expecting to pay at least $50-$60 a person, but the menu was surprisingly on the price-friendly side. The taste: The FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY AMAZINGđŸ˜« The best: $6 Brussels Sprouts. I know nobody likes greens but this Brussels sprouts is outta pocket! With crispy bacon bits adding the necessary animal fat flavours, the cranberries provided the perfect relief from the grease and salty savoury seasoning. The Brussels sprouts are cooked perfectly with slight chard to them. 10/10 made me like veges again! Pizza: We got the mushroom pesto pizza. The flavour was right. The toppings were plenty with every ingredients bustling with their each unique flavours. However I like my pizza a little softer than what was given. Still, a great pizza for $14. It’s literally better priced than dominos in an upscale restaurant! Pasta was $21, a regular dinner menu item. a generous 5 pieces of jumbo shrimps. White sauce was very creamy and savoury. However the pasta choice is quite odd, is thinking it would be spaghetti but it was thicker than spaghetti. Overall a decent dish with very well seasoned garlic and cream flavours. The salad: My wife absolutely loved it. Take in she is also a vege-hater. But this romaine salad has the perfect balance of Parmesan kick to the dressing, along with sprinkles of hazelnut bits making it a delicious salad. We really enjoyed the salad. Calamari: Almost potatoe chip like crispiness to them. With a lime dip cutting down the deep fried grease, very refreshing option. Great to go along with a drink! An absolute gem of a place in downtown Eugene. This is what road trips is all about: discovering unique experiences of food and culture. And indeed we did, Gordon Tavern did not disappoint! Made us want to stay at Gordon hotel instead!

First off, DEFINITELY make a reservation or don't go at all. Parking on the weekend is awful. When you arrive you'll be told to wait or be crammed into what feels like a waiting room area called "the lounge" where you will be sitting elbow to elbow with tables as big as 6 tops located in basically the entrance lobby with tables big enough for 1 plate and maybe a purse. My spouse and I were seated here and were treated like trash as larger groups came in around us. Chris was the waiter for this section, he was slow, unapproachable, forgetful and seemed stressed out/rushed, in his defense. The food and drinks came out very slow, but we knew they were busy. When the food finally arrived it was PHENOMENAL! FIVE STARS TO THE CHEF!!! 🎉 We ordered the quinoa salad with salmon added that was cooked to perfection and had little bright yellow cherry tomatoes that were carefully cut in halves that resembled hearts! We also ordered the shrimp pasta which had heavenly notes of lemon and authentic Italian seasonings with shrimp that were also cooked to perfection! Smoky, served with lemon the way seafood should be, and not to chewy, with a savory CRUNCH! The portions were generous, prices fair. The wine menu was intellectually thought out as there were sweet, dry and well rounded flavors for both red and whites. The food was creative, outstanding in flavor and beautifully presented. The staff on the floor however ran around stressed and treating people like garbage probably from being overworked and unappreciated? We didn't even recieve our water until we got our check almost an hour later, after asking 4 times for a simple glass each, which was highly dissapointing for such a well regarded establishment.

If you're looking for a fine dining experience with affordable pricing, look no further! Gordon Tavern features a reasonably sized menu with quality dishes without breaking the bank. Their Steak options are sized appropriately and are evenly cooked to your preference. Don't slouch on the Crab & Shrimp cakes which are to die for! Their Meat & Cheese platter will leave you asking for the recipe of their unexpectedly delicious cayenne-infused peanut brittle. I highly recommend the fried chicken sliders as they're a perfect size and packed with flavor. Small appetite? Try out their blueberry sausage dish. It's incredibly well-balanced and the smashed potatoes are seasoned well with pearl onions rounding it out. Their Deep-fried Brussels Sprouts are incredibly addicting and may be one of the best items on the menu. The drink selection is quite varied and features local IPA's as well as classic drinks with a twist, like the Oregon Mule which is far more fruity than typical; a welcome addition. Not feeling too adventurous? Their house-made Pepperoni Pizza is actually quite addicting and you may find yourself ordering one on the side just because. Come check this place out! You'll find it could be your next go-to, especially for any pre or post Hult Center performances.

I have dined here on several occasions as I live next door.

On each visit - whether it’s breakfast, brunch, lunch, happy hour, dinner, or a holiday - the service has always been exceptional and the food on point.

I had family in town last weekend so we made reservations for dinner on Saturday evening. Our reservations were for 5:15pm, which is much earlier than we normally have dinner. Due to all of the sporting events in town that weekend and, perhaps, prom - this was the only time slot available. It, also, didn’t help that we made the reservation at “the last minute.”

We arrived very promptly for our 5:15 reservation. Upon checking in with the hostess, we were told that it was going to be a few minutes. We were seated just prior to 5:30pm. This wasn’t an issue; but, it has happened on every visit.

When I made our reservation, I requested to sit in The Vintage Room and the staff was able to accommodate my request.

Once seated, we had the most amazing server. She was excellent, attentive, and knowledgeable.

We started with the fried calamari - spicy green goddess, grilled lemon. The calamari was perfectly cooked and had a nice light breading. The green goddess dipping sauce and the grilled lemon were perfect accompaniments.

We then each had the Romaine salad -herb and garlic breadcrumbs, anchovies, Caesar dressing. The salads were excellent and on point.

For our mains, I had the sausage - venison and blueberry sausage, mustard greens, smashed potatoes, pickled pearl onions, herb jus; my sister had the margherita pizza - red sauce, fresh mozzarella, basil, fresh tomatoes, balsamic glaze; and my brother-in-law had the seared Ahi tuna - broccolini, pearl onions, wasabi-lime cream, whipped potatoes.

The sausage and the tuna were both perfectly cooked and on point. Our only criticism was with the pizza. The crust was very soggy and lacked in flavor.

For dessert, my brother-in-law and I shared the CrÚme Brûlée - espresso and vanilla custard, caramelized sugar. It was excellent and the crust was absolute perfection.

We will...

We had a group of 6, service was very slow (drinks took 20 minutes to arrive at table) but it was a Saturday night so I can somewhat understand. The thing that upset me was that I ordered a hamburger and after a half hour of waiting for our food my burger arrives cold. I informed the waitress and she told me she would get me a new one, nearly a half hour went by until the new burger arrived at the table, by that time everyone else was done eating and basically ready to leave. I asked the waitress if she could just put the burger in a box she said ok then came back with a check. She did not offer to take the burger off of the bill after all that so I asked her if I just left the hamburger on the table if she would take it off of the bill, she said yes. I thought it was a bit odd that I would’ve had to ask after sitting there for the whole meal with no food, you would think that she or a manager would’ve just offered to take it off the bill. We went to leave and told me that I could just take the burger with me as it would just be thrown away. On a sidenote, while I had been waiting for the burger, she had brought some beans and one other side dish to the table and told us it was on the house which I thought was nice, but later when we have looked on the bill we realized we had been charged for two other side dishes we didn’t order and also charged for the two side dishes that she said were on the house so we were actually overcharged by just over $16 and did not receive our two complementary side dishes for the fact that I had received no dinner. I will say that the waitress was nice and I know that some things are out of here control. To the management team I don’t know if you care or even read these reviews, but it would be neat if you would get more involved with this happening in your...
