My daughter and I won't be returning because of the customer service we've received on the phone on two separate occasions. A few months back we came in and spent $150 on products and services. We booked our next appointments while we were in. At 7:30 that night I received a call from someone claiming to be from Urban Waxx telling me if I didn't give her my credit card information over the phone she was going to cancel our appointments. I asked to speak with my esthetician and she told me it wasn't possible. She was extremely rude. I don't give my cc over the phone. There are too many scammers. Then last week I had our appointments booked and received a call that my tech was sick. No problem, I would like to reschedule to Friday. She then tells me I can reschedule mine but I will have to pay 1/2 the price of the service if I reschedule my daughter. I said, I live out of town and you canceled my appointment, so can't you make an exception? She said sure that she would make an exception this time. Then she called me back 5 minutes later to say that never mind she had to charge me because we had missed an appointment in October. We actually hadn't. I explained that we rescheduled because of a last minute school event and I wasn't sure why she doesn't see it in the computer. Needless to say, I drove my daughter to town then I canceled my Friday appointment. Outsourcing something as important as customer service creates a real disconnect between your clients and staff. Your outsourced customer service has NO grey areas and life is filled with shades of grey. Last time I got my brows done by Mekaela, she is amazing! Quick and didn't miss a hair. My brows were a mess and I hadn't had them done since moving to eugene but they were in some serious need of help. She was talkative, kept me distracted and it was not painful one bit. When I came back last week I saw Jasper. She was good as well, however she did miss a few hairs once I was in the sunlight. Not a problem, I plucked them and went on with my business. Her waxing seemed a little rushed, she was moving fast and was a little sloppy with the wax. Fly aways from the wax were all over my face and she waxed the same areas more than once. She was not talkative and I felt a bit awkward just laying there. While she was waxing me, I noticed she was placing the wax fairly far down onto my eyelids. I didn't think anything of it, I must have had baby hairs that low and didn't realize it. It was hot but not uncomfortably hot. When I got home the area was red from the waxing but not anything out of the norm. The next morning when I woke up my left eye lid was stinging as if I had a burn. Sure enough when I looked into the mirror I had a lovely burn across my eyelid. It is not the end of the world, but I think I will only be seeing Mekeala in the future. This is the 4th time ive been waxed here, all with different people. I have had a great time every time. My first time they suggested a serum afterwards but have not been pushy about products at all, and I do trust that the serum they suggested has greatly helped in preventing ingrowns and making the next wax even easier. This last time, I had Jasmine F and had really great conversation during the appointment. I am always apprehensive since I have a unique situation regarding my facial hair, and when I disclosed this she was totally understanding, nice, and just great about it. Highly highly recommend. You can tell on their website that they are very trans friendly, but of course you never know with each individual. Jasmine made me feel seen, welcomed, and treated me with respect. We had some good laughs too! I originally picked Urban Waxx because I wanted somewhere that specialized in waxing and didn't do 10 other things as well, and I totally stand by that decision.
