We had went for drinks after a subpar dinner experience at the Gordon tavern- we ordered two vodka sprites and a glass of wine The female bartender working didn’t know anything about the wine and as we don’t like sweet wine we order Chardonnay and it tasted like sweet wine Our vodka sprites tasted only like vodka so after not having a good experience in the Gordon tavern we asked them to just take the drinks off our tab as we didn’t even drink them after being there for 40 minutes trying to get the servers attention. A pretty small speakeasy and she couldn’t even keep up with checking on her tables? The male bartender refused to remove our drinks that we didn’t even drink because “ I can’t mess up a vodka sprite” yet it tasted like I was drinking straight liquor. We paid for the drinks that’s we only took a sip of and left. Honestly a horrible experience and will never return the male bartender was rude and he didn’t even offer to remake our drinks. And this coming from two other servers who are understanding when it comes to things needing to be...

The atmosphere was great, but don't try to show up early, our reservation was for 7:15pm we showed up at 7:10pm and were told to go wander and wait until 7:15pm. The staff was less friendly. The issue is if you are a minor. No where in the restaurant did it state that minors were not allowed upon sitting down my friend who ordered a diet coke was asked for there ID upon saying they were a minor, they were denied service and ask to leave as the bartender did not want to risk his license (we went across the way to the whisky distillery and had no issue). Since they were denied access due to being underage was a bit odd as we were not carded coming into the door so i cannot see how this was a issue. we are sitting at the bar asking for a diet coke. Upon coming to the realization we no longer want to be there since our friend could not join us as well. The Bartender let out a loud "GodD*mmit" pardon my language. Which is quite unprofessional. The staff is a huge downside considering that they will not serve minors yet they did not check ids before...

I really wanted to like this place, maybe even love it. I found the idea of the whole password/secret access thing to be very fun. Sure, it's a little kitschy, who cares? It's fun.

We had a group of 6, a young lady greeted us. I will say she was very pleasant and friendly. We ordered cocktails. We got them in a reasonable time frame.

.....and then were virtually abandoned. She asked if we were ordering food, we said yes, very likely, in a moment. She never came back. Not at all. We finished our cocktails. Still no visit. The place emptied out, there was almost no one left. We sat with 6 empty cocktails for several minutes, finally got a return visit. At that point we just asked for the check and left. We had intended to eat some food and have another round. We changed plans.

The decor in the place is nice. The drinks were tasty. Our server was nice when we got to talk to her. I don't know if it was a one-off, but we likely...

We had a great time at 86 Speakeasy! Personally, I’ve been to fancier looking ones but I liked the vibe and very fitting for Eugene from my experience. I don’t remember the names of all the drinks we had but they were very good. My friend got the coffee one which was super cool! I was too busy watching to get a video of it but highly suggest it! And they weren’t even pretty, also tasted good. The calamari was also delicious! The person who sat us was nice and the bartenders were great! They are very busy turning out drinks the whole time but it’s fun to watch. It’s not a very big space but great for date or couple girls type of night!

Grayson is a consummate mixologist, absolutely amazing. The presentation, flavor profiles on each drink, and overall ambience are breathtakingly exquisite. You’re missing out on something truly unique and wonderful if you come to Eugene and don’t visit. Ask him to experiment, you will be delighted and surprised at every turn. It has been the highlight of my sojourn into the southern valley. What a magical experience. Truly, they should sell tickets to this.

What a great little spot to enjoy some top notch cocktails and small plates with your friends or significant other. We were greeted by super friendly people and led into a small but well appointed bar that showcased a large selection high end alcohol that was put to great use making fantastic cocktails. I highly encourage you to get the password of the day and give it a try. Reservations are required as they don't take walk-ins.
