It was my first time going here. There were 3 people standing at the register, one of them was the manager, and I said hello :) I’ve never been here before. And I just got blank stares…. Ok…. Can I please get 2, 2 fish taco plates? They continued to stare?? I asked if that was ok. Then one of them said, you start over there. And pointed to the beginning of their glass case. Ok!! So I walked over there and the man, who they called the boss, looked at me and waited…so I repeated myself. I’d like 2 fish taco plates with 2 fish tacos each. He dropped 2 pieces of fish, and I said I wanted 4. He nodded. Then he grabbed one container and asked what kind of beans I wanted. I told him and and then he went on to stuff the tortillas. I repeated again, I want two plates. He acted like this was very difficult. He grabbed another container and asked what beans for that one. And it was like that down the whole line!!! He asked if I wanted sour cream. I said do you have a sauce for the fish tacos? He said yes, sour cream. I asked if he had a different one and then he said yes, a lime cilantro sour cream. Awesome!! Now we’re getting somewhere!!! Yes please, that one!! Then he grabbed the 2 pieces of fish and added them. I said, ok, but I asked for two, two taco plates? He asked, you want another taco??? Am I not speaking clearly? Is this a joke? What’s happening??? lol. Yes!! Please! So he drops the two other pieces of fish and then makes the tacos without a care in the world. I could feel that he was irritated?! Really?? And he’s the manager? Is this how he treats everyone? He went to grab another bean cup and I said no, I don’t want another plate! I just want two tacos for each plate. I was polite, I was clear, and I even prefaced with, I’ve never been here before. I was treated SO rudely. And for no reason. Ive worked customer service for years. I am very aware how I speak to people. This was so rude that I had to come and make a damm review!! I won’t be going back. The second set of tacos were made awfully. Felt like it wasn’t a coincidence. Do people not care if they’re rude anymore? Is asking for food at a food joint just too much to ask?! Good grief!! I’m not seeing a spot to add a picture here of the plate they gave me. But wow. For $40, it was a rip off. I won’t be going back. Mucho gusto...
Read moreThis was my first visit to Mucho Gusto, and I had heard from a neighbor here in Eugene that the restaurant was pretty good, so I had high hopes. Upon entering the restaurant this past weekend with 2 other family members, we noticed signs on the tables and a big sign at the door stating, "Do not sit down until you get your food". Not exactly a warm welcome. My parents were unsure of what to order and we could tell that the workers on the serving line were clearly irritated that we didn't know their menu. My mom ordered a Mucho Dippo (which is basically a big salad with chips) with no meat and no beans, but when she asked for a little more salsa, the server gave her dirty looks and reluctantly gave a small additional spoonful. After we got our food and made our way to a table (yes, we followed their rules), we needed napkins. This restaurant does NOT have napkins available for customers - they have to ask an employee to get them. The food here is very ordinary, nothing special, and for what you get, their prices seem high. Lastly, this is one of those restaurants that leave a place for a tip on the credit card slip even though you stand in a line to place your food, you pick it up at the cash register, you find a table, and you bus your own table. This is simply a personal pet peeve of mine. As expected, I would NOT recommend this restaurant - they need to learn a bit about service and value from Chipotle...

Ok now for the review, This was the second time in a row that the staff has so hastily thrown together my food and without waiting for a response have thrown a handful of cheese onto my burrito...Heres the kicker, the first time the person turned around with the plate and attempted to pick it off! That is so nasty, yesterday they "boys" tried to pick it off again!! When I requested they remake the burrito the 3 of them continued to make fun of us in Spanish thinking we were completely oblivious, neither burrito was wrapped properly. Mine leaked like crazy and the wife just squeezed her filling out of the tortilla. When the wife ordered a cocktail the check out guy made her pull down her mask for what seemed an inappropriate amount of time saying he's "not sure"..Shes 35, manages one of the best beers spots in all of eugene but here is the even weirder thing, you wanted to see my ID even though I'm ordering a Soda? I'm 40 years old with a grey beard? It was total descrimination and super weird, We won't be coming back and I'll be telling everyone I know.
Food was...
