Don't waste your time or money. I recently starting working on at a new job site located 4 blocks away from the Cafe. For the past month this store has yet to open on time at 7:00 AM. Typically isn't open until about 7:20 AM - 7:30 AM. Once they are open the staff is suprisingly unprofessional, in need of customer service training and coffee making. The coffee is really bad.. I've ordered several different drinks and it's always the same thing a gritty/crunchy substance that's either missing something or has way too much of another. And I'm pretty sure the milk they put in my drink two weeks ago had spoiled. I've never seen a business that operates in a service industry be so out of sync with the customer experience. The mornings I have came in the staff member is typically dressed in grungy sweats and a tee-shirt, looking as though they just woke up and would rather be some where else. Zero customer interaction. In addition, the "food" items are nothing you can't get in the frozen food section at Market of Choice. I think this is all the product of bad mangement/ownership. There's a Dutch Bros two blocks away....
Read moreThis passes for 4.5 stars in Eugene?! I’m doing my best not to compare with Papa Haydn in Portland. I was expecting something classier. Not a single cheesecake on the menu the night we were there and you call yourself a dessert bar? I ordered something the server described as “brownie” which turned out to be a dry chocolate cupcake with dry frosting. That’s it. Something more akin to high school bake sale or child’s birthday party than pastry chef fare. The vibe is eclectic coffeehouse circa early 1990s. A pair of students camped out in the corner were coughing the entire time we were there. Nice touch for a romantic evening. This place could be so much better if they specialized in something: a cupcake food cart with an outdoor gas fire pit would have been more satisfying. Thank god there...
Read moreI am so excited to be able to visit Sip! I love a good champagne bar and this business is definitely fulfilling a big need for the city of Eugene! Sip is located in the old Sanctum Cafe spot across from the old Oregon Electric Station. Pay street parking and a pay lot just around the block. Today is the first day of them serving alcohol and I am very excited to be their first pour! They tell me they're going to be doing evening hours (5pm - 11pm) in the future as well as mimosas for brunch. They have more than just sparkling wine, they have legitimate champagne here too. They also are still offering coffee in the morning. Can't wait to see Sip grow! This will be added to my must visits when I come to town...
