I stopped by Slice during a stop on a recent road trip. The pizza was okay. The atmosphere is quite nice. The service unfortunately wasn’t great. I stood by the front counter for about 5 minutes and no one helped me so I just sat at a table and waited to see if anyone was going to be at the front register or ask if I needed anything. Someone else walked to the register and got service immediately which didn’t make me feel welcome. I stood by the bar for a few minutes awkwardly trying to get the bartender’s attention. It wasn’t a busy evening so I didn’t think it would take so long. Once I got my slices and brew and sat down, I saw the bartender pretty much ignore a customer that was waiting there patiently. Yee-uh, I would come back for another slice. But it is downtown. What a weird freskin' center of commerce for Eugene. A town too weak to become a real powerhouse in its own standing. There should be more of this kind of business. Inviting, welcoming and serving the community. Not just Downtown, but all over Eugene. The guys working here were on the Slice. Almost like walking into a Jersey Pizza Jernt. One thing. Don't stack clean, still wet water cups together. It is gross and bad form. Other than that,...

One guy passed back and forth in front of us at the counter four times, and the other guy twice. Neither of them greeted us, thanked us for coming in or even looked in our direction even though they were passing four feet in front of us. Nothing to acknowledge we even existed, let alone make us feel welcome. But here's the really nice thing: there's plenty of fine restaurants up and down the same street where they do greet their customers, so we went and spent our money in one of those instead. The service and the food Killer...
